Movie Marathone Mode

Do you watch movies online? Well Milzon and I are always on a movie marathon mode as in we watch movie online at least every other day or almost everyday. We are grabbing this opportunity while the Summer vacation is on. Despite of my busy schedule, i always make sure that i lend some of my time to my little brother. We used to watch movies together or make some art crafts for our blog. It's like a daily routine already and we are really having fun with it. I am really that close to my little brother and honestly, i can't imagine a day without him by my side. Well I am probably the luckiest brother around and it is such a blessing to have a loving and caring brother like him in our family. He will turn Grade 2 this coming school year and i just can't imagine how time ran out so fast. Yikes! That means i am not getting any younger already and i will not be surprised when one day i woke and his already in high school. Sobs.
Anyway, enough with the drama and let's go back to the movie. After watching series of Macaulay Culkin movies last week including Home Alone, The Page Master and My Girl, we decided to watch an animated film entitled "Animals United". I never heard of this animated film actually, we just saw it online. We checked the trailer on Youtube and we find it very interesting so we decided to watch the movie. The graphics are so great and very very detailed too. Well, the movie revolves around the story about different animals who were victims of human earthly activities. The story centered around environmental issues made by man. Obviously, the humans here are the villains which is so true. We really enjoyed watching this film and you guys should try it too.
I downloaded the film last night and save a copy of it on a CD so that we can watch it again. I used to download films online through some file sharing websites. It is really hard to find a real copy of movie in DVD especially those old and classic films that's why whenever i watch movies online, I'll go to a website that allows you to Download Free Movies and save myself a copy of each films and add them on my movie collection. Internet is such a powerful tool and you can now download videos for free in no time. This is exactly what i did with some of my favorite classic movies including "The Sound of Music", "The King and I" and "Wizard of Oz". We all know how classic they are and we rarely find a store that has a copy of these films and we all know how expensive they are now.
Well, right now Milzon is requesting for a Disney movie. Any suggestions?

INTERESTING BLOG OF THE MONTH ~ APRIL 2011

Blog Title Ako: The Adventures of Marikoy

What Is Your Blog All About?
As mentioned in the title, it's all about my every day adventures, including (but not limited to) events I attend, movies I've watched, foods I prepare or eat, places I visit, memories I recall, observations, thoughts, etc.
When And How did you start Blogging?

I published my first blog post in January 2006, but I made just one post and totally forgot about it. Then in 1999, I was jobless and had nothing to do, so I blogged, at first, just to document my wedding planning.
Blogs I Like (Characteristics)

Blogs with clean humor (that gets me hooked and laughing), blogs with interesting trivia, blogs with a personal tone, blogs with colors and font style/size which make it easy to read, blogs with photos every now and then, etc.
Blogs I Dislike (Characteristics)
Blogs with offensive words/photos or dirty humor, blogs with loud music, blogs with way too much ads (more ads than posts), blogs filled with too much complaints about everything, blogs with too much pop-ups or animation, etc.
What Motivates you to Blog?

At first, because I was jobless, I blogged because I wanted to earn a little something even though I was unemployed. Then, I blogged because I wanted to share what I'm doing for my wedding. Now, the additional motivations are the satisfaction, the inspiring support of readers who patronize my blog, and the opportunities to meet people and make new friends via my blog.
Who Are your Target Readers?

I don't really think about this, or about blogging for the purpose of attracting a specific group of people. I almost always think that I have to make my posts interesting so anybody who'd come across it would enjoy what they read. So maybe I can say my target is everyone, except spammers, stalkers, and all sorts of evil people. (lol!)
What is Your Most Favorite post and Why?

I don't have a particular favorite, but I like the funny posts I've made, and some creative DIY tutorial posts. I also like the posts that receive lots of positive, related comments, because it means that I have made my readers happy and well entertained.

Things We Should Expect from your Blog these succeeding months

I started 2011 with the resolution to make at least 20 posts on my blog each month. However, since March, I raised the bar and posted every day. I do hope I can maintain that (posting every day) and that I can keep on posting enjoyable articles.
Tips For Our Readers About Blogging

Be real, be yourself (even if that means posting a crazy photo of yourself, like I sometimes do). If you have a camera, always take it with you, because you'll never know when you'd encounter something worth blogging about. Show gratitude to those who patronize your blog by following their blogs too. And above all, have fun as you blog! :-)

Time for an Easter Related Entry. Listed below are five famous fictional rabbits. By the way, my siblings and I were making Easter Related art crafts too, you can check our Art Blog Here if you have time. Before we proceed with our Top Five, here are some fictional rabbits that failed to make it on Top Five but deserves a special mention.

Thumper from the Disney Film Bambi
Lola Bunny from Film Space Jam and Looney Tunes
Roger Rabbit from Who Framed Roger Rabbit

TOP FIVE MOST POPULAR FICTIONAL RABBITS

TOP 5 MOST POPULAR FICTIONAL RABBIT
"MARCH HARE"
(FROM ALICE IN WONDERLAND)

The March Hare is a character most famous for appearing in the tea party scene in Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Like the character's friend, the Hatter, the March Hare feels compelled to always behave as though it is tea-time because the Hatter supposedly "murdered the time" whilst singing for the Queen of Hearts. Sir John Tenniel's illustration also shows him with straw on his head, a common way to depict madness in Victorian times. The Disney version of the character was also a semi-regular on Bonkers and one of the guests in House of Mouse, often seen seated with the Mad Hatter. March Hare also appeared in 2010 Disney's Alice in Wonderland. In the movie, the March Hare behaves as if constantly nerve-wracked and completely delirious. He is a cook in the film, and the way he eccentrically throws dishes and pots suggests he is an amalgam of both the March Hare and the cook from Lewis Carroll's original book.

TOP 4 MOST POPULAR RABBIT
"RABBIT"

(FROM WINNIE THE POOH)

In the fictional world of the book series and cartoons Winnie-the-Pooh, Rabbit is a responsible rabbit who happens to be a good friend of Winnie-the-Pooh. He is always practical and keeps his friends on their toes, although they sometimes raise his ire unintentionally. Rabbit appears in most Disney Winnie the Pooh cartoons. He is usually a normal individual, but played the role of the main antagonist in two features, Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too and Pooh's Heffalump Movie. He sang a total of two songs which could be considered "villain songs," namely "If It Says So" in Pooh's Grand Adventure: The Search for Christopher Robin, and "The Horridly Hazardous Heffalumps" in Pooh's Heffalump Movie. As an addition to his character, he likes his garden and does whatever he can to protect it from other animals such as bugs and crows. He gets cross and grumpy when they try to steal his vegetables, especially carrots. By the way, when i was a kid, I thought Piglet is also a bunny LOL.

TOP 3 MOST POPULAR RABBIT
"OSWALD THE RABBIT"
(FROM OSWALD THE LUCKY RABBIT)

Oswald the Lucky Rabbit is an anthropomorphic rabbit and animated cartoon character created by Ub Iwerks and Walt Disney for films distributed by Universal Pictures in the 1920s and 1930s. Oswald the Lucky Rabbit was introduced in 1927 after Disney's series of Alice Comedies had run its course. Disney signed a new contract with Universal Studios head Carl Laemmle where he would produce a series of cartoons for Charles Mintz and George Winkler. The first Oswald cartoon, Poor Papa, was rejected by the Universal studio heads due to poor production quality and the sloppiness and age of Oswald. After this, Disney, together with Ub Iwerks, created a second cartoon called Trolley Troubles featuring a much younger, neater Oswald. The short officially launched the series and proved to be Disney's greatest success yet. Poor Papa was finally released a year later. In the spring of 1928, with the series going strong, Disney asked Mintz for an increase in the budget. But Mintz instead demanded that Walt take a 20 percent budget cut, and as leverage, he reminded Disney that Universal owned the character, and revealed that he had already signed most of Disney's current employees to his new contract: Iwerks and Les Clark were among the few who remained loyal to Walt. Disney refused Mintz's demand, disassociating himself from Oswald after the series' first season. While finishing the remaining Oswald cartoons, Disney, Iwerks and Clark created the cartoon hero who would become The Walt Disney Company's lasting symbol: Mickey Mouse (a slightly altered Oswald the Rabbit to avoid litigation), the most famous of Walt Disney's characters.

TOP 2 MOST POPULAR RABBIT
"THE WHITE RABBIT"

(FROM ALICE IN WONDERLAND)

The White Rabbit is a fictional character in Lewis Carroll's book Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. He appears at the very beginning of the book, in chapter one, wearing a waistcoat, and muttering "Oh dear! Oh dear! I shall be too late!" Alice follows him down the rabbit hole into Wonderland. Alice encounters him again when he mistakes her for his housemaid Mary Ann and she becomes trapped in his house after growing too large. The Rabbit shows up again in the last few chapters, as a herald-like servant of the King and Queen of Hearts. In Disney's animated version of the book, the Rabbit seems to have the most logic out of all the Wonderland characters. The Disney Rabbit made a few appearances on the Disney Channel original show, House of Mouse. His most noticeable appearance was when he confessed to Clarabelle Cow that "I'm not really late, and I don't really have a date. I'm a fraud!". In the show's intro, he is grabbed by the reservation clerk Daisy Duck.
The White Rabbit IN 2010 Alice in Wonderland film works for the Red Queen, but is also a secret member of the Underland Underground Resistance, and was sent by the Hatter to search for Alice

THE MOST POPULAR RABBIT
"BUGS BUNNY"

(FROM LOONEY TUNES)

No body can get the throne from being the most famous rabbit other than Bugs Bunny. Bugs Bunny is a fictional main character who starred in the Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies series of animated films. He is the most prominent of the Looney Tunes characters as his calm, flippant insouciance endeared him to American audiences during and after World War II. Bugs has feuded with Elmer Fudd, Yosemite Sam, Willoughby the Dog, Marvin the Martian, Beaky Buzzard, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Tasmanian Devil, Cecil Turtle, Charlie Dog, Witch Hazel, Rocky and Mugsy, Wile E. Coyote, the Crusher, Gremlin, Big Bad Wolf, Count Blood Count and a host of others. Bugs almost always wins these conflicts, a plot pattern which recurs in Looney Tunes films directed by Chuck Jones. Concerned that viewers would lose sympathy for an aggressive protagonist who always won, Jones arranged for Bugs to be bullied, cheated, or threatened by the antagonists while minding his own business, justifying his subsequent antics as retaliation or self-defense. The carrot-chewing scenes are generally followed by Bugs Bunny's most well-known catchphrase, "What's up, Doc?", which was written by director Tex Avery for his first Bugs Bunny short, 1940's A Wild Hare. Avery explained later that it was a common expression in his native Texas and that he did not think much of the phrase. In 2002, TV Guide compiled a list of the 50 greatest cartoon characters of all time as part of the magazine's 50th anniversary. Bugs Bunny was given the honor of number 1.

"N" is for "Nilaga"

Nilagang Baka or Beef Stew is one of my favorite Filipino Dish. Nilaga is actually an Easy-to-prepare dish since you just have to boiled all the ingredients together.
Here's how you prepare Nilagang Baka. (Instructions taken from the web)
  • In a big casserole, heat oil and sauté the garlic and onions.
  • Add water, the beef, black pepper and patis. Bring to a boil then simmer for 1 hour or until the beef is tender.
  • Add the potatoes. Continue to simmer until potatoes are cooked.
  • Add the cabbage then the pechay. Do not over cook the vegetables. You can also add other veggies like straw beans, young corn or Jungle banana (saba)
  • Salt and pepper to taste.
  • Serve steaming hot in a bowl and plain white rice.
You can also use Chicken or Pork as a substitute for Beef. Okay.. I think I'll ignore my diet for awhile LOL.

YUYU HAKUSHO MODE

Yuyu Hakusho has always been my all time favorite anime and I never get tired of watching the replays on tv.
Yuyu Hakusho or Ghost Fighter is a story about a high school student named Urameshi Yusuke (Eugene in Filipino Version) who died in a car accident after saving a little boy from being hit by a car. Eugene brought back to life by Jericho and became aware of the Spirit World. In exchange, Eugene became a Spirit Detective who investigates supernatural activities within the human world. He was soon accompanied by his rival Kuwabara (Alfred), Hiei (Vincent) and Kurama (Denise) to fight those evil forces. The anime version has Four seasons or Saga: The Spirit Detective Saga (the beginning), The Dark Tournament Saga (the fight against Taguro), Chapter Black Saga (Fight against Sensui) and the Three Kings Saga where Yusuke, Hiei and Kurama seperately got an invitation from three demon lords of the demon world and has to fight against each other to determine who among the three kings will rule the whole demon plane.
Since I am in a Yuyu Hakusho mode today, i decided to pick a song from this anime. Hohoemi No Bakudan is probably the most notable theme song from this anime. And guess what, I memorized the lyrics of this song even though i don't know the meaning of it haha.

TOP FIVE MOST RENOWN UNSOLVED MYSTERIES PART 2

This is a continuation of my Top Five World's Renown Unsolved Mystery posted 2 years ago. Making a Part 2 of this post after 2 years is also a mystery by the way Haha. You can check the link to recap my previous entries for this category. Anyway, i hope you like the new set of Mysteries listed here. They might give you goosebumps too.
TOP FIVE MOST RENOWN UNSOLVED MYSTERIES

TOP 5 MOST RENOWN UNSOLVED MYSTERY
"DYATLOV PASS INCIDENT"

The Dyatlov Pass incident refers to an event that resulted in the deaths of nine ski hikers in the northern Ural mountains on the night of February 2, 1959. It happened on the east shoulder of the mountain Kholat Syakhl. The mountain pass where the incident occurred has since been named Dyatlov Pass after the group's leader, Igor Dyatlov. The lack of eyewitnesses and subsequent investigations into the hikers' deaths have inspired much speculation. Investigators at the time determined that the hikers tore open their tent from within, departing barefoot in heavy snow. Though the corpses showed no signs of struggle, two victims had fractured skulls, two had broken ribs, and one was missing her tongue. According to sources, four of the victims' clothing contained substantial levels of radiation. There is no mention of this in contemporary documentation; it only appears in later documents. Soviet investigators determined only that "a compelling unknown force" had caused the deaths. Access to the area was barred for skiers and other adventurers for three years after the incident. The chronology of the incident remains unclear due to the lack of survivors.
A legal inquest had been started immediately after finding the first five bodies. A medical examination found no injuries which might have led to their deaths, and it was concluded that they had all died of hypothermia. One person had a small crack in his skull, but it was not thought to be a fatal wound. To dispel the theory of an attack by the indigenous Mansi people, one doctor indicated that the fatal injuries of the three bodies could not have been caused by another human being, "because the force of the blows had been too strong and no soft tissue had been damaged" After the funerals, relatives of the deceased claimed that the skin of the victims had a strange brown tan. Another group of hikers (about 50 kilometers south of the incident) reported that they saw strange orange spheres in the night sky to the north (likely in the direction of Kholat Syakhl) on the night of the incident. Similar "spheres" were observed in Ivdel and adjacent areas continually during the period of February to March 1959, by various independent witnesses (including the meteorology service and the military).

TOP 4 MOST RENOWN UNSOLVED MYSTERY
"THE MYSTERY OF MARY CELESTE"
The Mary Celeste was a brigantine merchant ship famous for having been discovered on 4 December 1872 in the Atlantic Ocean unmanned and apparently abandoned, despite the fact that the weather was fine and her crew had been experienced and able seamen. The Mary Celeste was in seaworthy condition and still under sail heading towards the Strait of Gibraltar. She had been at sea for a month and had over six months' worth of food and water on board. Her cargo was virtually untouched and the personal belongings of passengers and crew were still in place, including valuables. The crew was never seen or heard from again. Their disappearance is often cited as the greatest maritime mystery of all time.
The fate of her crew has been the subject of much speculation. Theories range from alcoholic fumes, to underwater earthquakes, to waterspouts, to paranormal explanations involving extraterrestrial life, unidentified flying objects (UFOs), sea monsters, and the phenomenon of the Bermuda Triangle, although the Mary Celeste is not known to have sailed through the Bermuda Triangle area. The Mary Celeste is often described as the archetypal ghost ship, since she was discovered derelict without any apparent explanation, and her name has become a synonym for similar occurrences.

TOP 3 MOST RENOWN UNSOLVED MYSTERY
"EASTER ISLAND STATUES (MOAI)"
Moai are monolithic human figures carved from rock on the Polynesian island of Easter Island between the years 1250 and 1500. Nearly half are still at Rano Raraku, the main moai quarry, but hundreds were transported from there and set on stone platforms called ahu around the island's perimeter. Almost all moai have overly large heads three-fifths the size of their bodies. The moai are chiefly the living faces (aringa ora) of deified ancestors (aringa ora ata tepuna). The statues still gazed inland across their clan lands when Europeans first visited the island, but most would be cast down during later conflicts between clans. The 887 statues' production and transportation is considered a remarkable creative and physical feat. The tallest moai erected, called Paro, was almost 10 metres (33 ft) high and weighed 75 tonnes; the heaviest erected was a shorter but squatter moai at Ahu Tongariki, weighing 86 tons; and one unfinished sculpture, if completed, would have been approximately 21 metres (69 ft) tall with a weight of about 270 tons.
Since the island was treeless by the time the Europeans first visited, the movement of the statues was a mystery for a long time; pollen analysis has now established that the island was almost totally forested until 1200 CE. The tree pollen disappeared from the record by 1650, and the statues stopped being made around that time. It is not known exactly how the moai were moved across the island, but the process almost certainly required human energy, ropes, and possibly wooden sledges (sleds) and/or rollers, as well as leveled tracks across the island (the Easter Island roads). Oral histories recount how various people used divine power to command the statues to walk. The earliest accounts say a king named Tuu Ku Ihu moved them with the help of the god Makemake, while later stories tell of a woman who lived alone on the mountain ordering them about at her will. Scholars currently support the theory that the main method was that the moai were "walked" upright (some assume by a rocking process), as laying it prone on a sledge (the method used by the Easter Islanders to move stone in the 1860s) would have required an estimated 1500 people to move the largest moai that had been successfully erected.

TOP 2 MOST RENOWN UNSOLVED MYSTERY
"RESTRICTED AREA 51"
Less than 100 miles from Las Vegas, Nevada is the most famous secret military installation on the planet. Rumors swirl around this base, much like the mysterious aircraft that twist and turn in the skies overhead. Although it's known by many names, most people call it by the Atomic Energy Commission's (AEC) designation: Area 51. There are several theories about how Area 51 got its name. The most popular is that the facility borders the Nevada Test Site (NTS). The AEC used the NTS as testing grounds for nuclear bombs. The NTS is mapped as a grid of squares that are numbered from one to 30 (with a few omissions). Area 51, while not part of this grid, borders Area 15. Many say the site got the name Area 51 by transposing the 1 and 5 of its neighbor. Another popular theory is that the number 51 was chosen because it was not likely to be used as part of the NTS system in the future (in case the NTS expanded later on). To say access to the base is limited is an understatement. The base and its activities are highly classified. The remote location helps keep the activities figuratively under the radar, as does the proximity to the NTS. After several land seizures, the base is surrounded by thousands of acres of empty desert landscape. The Air Force has withdrawn lands from public use to help keep the base hidden from snooping eyes. Everyone who works at Area 51, whether military or civilian, must sign an oath agreeing to keep everything a secret. Its secretive nature and undoubted connection to classified aircraft research, together with reports of unusual phenomena, have led Area 51 to become a focus of modern UFO and conspiracy theories.Several people have claimed knowledge of events supporting Area 51 conspiracy theories. These have included Bob Lazar, who claimed in 1989 that he had worked at Area 51's S-4 (a facility at Papoose Lake), where he was contracted to work with alien spacecraft that the U.S. government had in its possession. Similarly, the 1996 documentary Dreamland directed by Bruce Burgess included an interview with a 71 year old mechanical engineer who claimed to be a former employee at Area 51 during the 1950s. His claims included that he had worked on a "flying disc simulator" which had been based on a disc originating from a crashed extraterrestrial craft and was used to train US Pilots. He also claimed to have worked with an extraterrestrial being named "J-Rod" and described as a "telepathic translator".

THE MOST RENOWN UNSOLVED MYSTERY
"THE LOST CITY OF ATLANTIS"

Atlantis is a legendary island first mentioned in Plato's dialogues Timaeus and Critias. In Plato's account, Atlantis was a naval power lying "in front of the Pillars of Hercules" that conquered many parts of Western Europe and Africa 9,000 years before the time of Solon, or approximately 9600 BC. After a failed attempt to invade Athens, Atlantis sank into the ocean "in a single day and night of misfortune". Scholars dispute whether and how much Plato's story or account was inspired by older traditions. Some scholars argue Plato drew upon memories of past events such as the Thera eruption or the Trojan War, while others insist that he took inspiration from contemporary events like the destruction of Helike in 373 BC or the failed Athenian invasion of Sicily in 415–413 BC. The possible existence of a genuine Atlantis was discussed throughout classical antiquity, but it was usually rejected and occasionally parodied by later authors. As Alan Cameron states: "It is only in modern times that people have taken the Atlantis story seriously; no one did so in antiquity"
Since Donnelly's day, there have been dozens of locations proposed for Atlantis, to the point where the name has become a generic concept, divorced from the specifics of Plato's account. This is reflected in the fact that many proposed sites are not within the Atlantic at all. Few today are scholarly or archaeological hypotheses, while others have been made by psychic or other pseudoscientific means. Many of the proposed sites share some of the characteristics of the Atlantis story (water, catastrophic end, relevant time period), but none has been demonstrated to be a true historical Atlantis.

TOP FIVE MOST FAMOUS DISAPPEARANCES

Listed below are well known personalities who disappeared without any trace. Their mysterious disappearance took the world's attention and captured people's imagination that continuously intrigued us up to this day.

TOP FIVE MOST FAMOUS DISAPPEARANCES

TOP 5 MOST FAMOUS DISAPPEARANCE
"AMBROSE BIERCE"

Ambrose Bierce was an American editorialist, journalist, short story writer, fabulist and satirist. Today, he is best known for his short story, "An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge" and his satirical lexicon, The Devil's Dictionary. The sardonic view of human nature that informed his work — along with his vehemence as a critic, with his motto "nothing matters" — earned him the nickname "Bitter Bierce." Despite his reputation as a searing critic, however, Bierce was known to encourage younger writers, including poet George Sterling and fiction writer W. C. Morrow. Bierce employed a distinctive style of writing, especially in his stories. This style often embraces an abrupt beginning , dark imagery, vague references to time, limited descriptions, the theme of war, and impossible events. In 1913, Bierce traveled to Mexico to gain a firsthand perspective on that country's ongoing revolution. While traveling with rebel troops, the elderly writer disappeared without a trace.
Some scholars believe he was killed in the siege of Ojinaga in January 1914. Others speculate that Bierce's final letters were a ruse and that he never actually went to Mexico but instead committed suicide.

TOP 4 MOST FAMOUS DISAPPEARANCE
"GLENN MILLER"

Glenn Miller was an American jazz musician , arranger, composer, and bandleader in the swing era. He was one of the best-selling recording artists from 1939 to 1943, leading one of the best known "Big Bands". Miller's notable recordings include In the Mood, American Patrol, Chattanooga Choo Choo, A String of Pearls, Tuxedo Junction, Moonlight Serenade, Little Brown Jug and Pennsylvania 6-5000.
While he was traveling to entertain U.S. troops in France during World War II, Miller's plane disappeared in bad weather over the English Channel. His body has never been found. There are three main theories about what happened to Miller's plane, including the suggestion that he might have been hit by Royal Air Force bombs after an abortive raid on Siegen, Germany.

TOP 3 MOST FAMOUS DISAPPEARANCE
"ANASTASIA ROVANOV"

Who among you have watched the 1997 Musical Animated film entitled "Anastasia"? Well, this is more than just a fiction because the character Anastasia really exist. Anastasia was a younger sister of Grand Duchess Olga, Grand Duchess Tatiana and Grand Duchess Maria, and was an elder sister of Alexei Nikolaevich, Tsarevich of Russia. She was murdered with her family on July 17, 1918 by forces of the Bolshevik secret police. Persistent rumors of her possible escape have circulated since her death, fueled by the fact that the location of her burial was unknown during the decades of Communist rule. The mass grave near Ekaterinburg which held the remains of the Tsar, his wife, and three daughters was revealed in 1991, but the bodies of Alexei Nikolaevich and one of his sisters — either Anastasia or her older sister Maria — were not discovered there. The purported survival of Anastasia has been the subject of both theatrical and made-for-television films. The most famous is probably the highly fictionalized 1956 Anastasia starring Ingrid Bergman as Anna Anderson, Yul Brynner as General Bounine (a fictional character based on several actual men), and Helen Hayes as the Dowager Empress Marie, Anastasia's paternal grandmother. The film tells the story of a woman from an asylum who appears in Paris in 1928 and is captured by several Russian émigrés who feed her information so that they can fool Anastasia's grandmother into thinking Anderson actually is her granddaughter in order to obtain a Tsarist fortune. The most recent film is 1997's Anastasia, an animated musical adaptation of the story of Anastasia's fictional escape from Russia and her subsequent quest for recognition. The film took greater liberties with historical fact than the 1956 film of the same name.

TOP 2 MOST FAMOUS DISAPPEARANCE
"PERCY FAWCETT"

Percival Harrison Fawcett was a British artillery officer, archaeologist and South American explorer. Along with his eldest son, Fawcett disappeared under unknown circumstances in 1925 during an expedition to find "Z" — his name for what he believed to be an ancient lost city in the uncharted jungles of Brazil. John Hemming, the Canadian explorer and historian of the Brazilian Indians, declared Fawcett a “Nietzschean explorer” spouting “eugenic gibberish”, although the writer David Grann also believes that Fawcett showed enlightened traits. Fawcett has been proposed as a possible inspiration for Indiana Jones, the fictional archaeologist/adventurer. Several unconfirmed sightings and many conflicting reports and theories explaining their disappearance followed, but despite the loss of over 100 lives in more than a dozen follow-up expeditions, and the recovery of some of Fawcett’s belongings, their fate remains a mystery.

THE MOST FAMOUS DISAPPEARANCE
"AMELIA EARHART"

Amelia Mary Earhart was a noted American aviation pioneer and author. Earhart was the first woman to receive the U.S. Distinguished Flying Cross, awarded for becoming the first aviatrix to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. Many theories emerged after the disappearance of Earhart and Noonan. Many researchers believe the Electra ran out of fuel and Earhart and Noonan ditched at sea.
The unresolved circumstances of Amelia Earhart's disappearance, along with her fame, attracted a great body of other claims relating to her last flight, all of which have been generally dismissed for lack of verifiable evidence. Several unsupported theories have become well known in popular culture.

Living a Healthy Lifestyle

Mom and dad had their free medical check up 2 weeks ago and the results of their medical test are kinda surprising to us. Dad has a serious issue regarding with his lungs and liver which is all because of his unhealthy lifestyle. He is such a smoker and he drinks a lot too but that was years ago before he suffered from a mild stroke last 2002. He was able to lessen his habit of drinking too much alcohol but he just can't take smoking out of his life. I think he can consume 4 to 6 packs of cigarette daily which is really not good for him. We tried everything to stop him or at least convince him to lessen his cigarette consumption but non of them worked effectively to him.
The result of my mom's medical test is what surprised me the most. She was diagnosed that her heart is mildly enlarged and her condition has to be monitored from time to time. Even though it is just mildly enlarged , she still has to be very careful on what she eats and should not stress herself that much. I think she should start joining in some outdoor activities and have a healthy lifestyle.
We can all avoid any heart related problems like these in the future by adopting a healthy lifestyle today. Listed below are some healthy heart disease prevention tips that all of us should do to achieve a healthy lifestyle.

"REGULAR EXERCISE"
This one plays a vital role in preventing fatal heart diseases and other related conditions like high cholesterol, high blood pressure and even diabetes. I think this one is a "Must do" activity whether you want to reduce the risk of heart attack or you simply want to reduce weight or get you back into shape. Even a 30 minutes exercise every morning can be very beneficial to you. You can also attend Gym sessions and try some of their cardi-exercising gym equipments. Or you can join or involved yourself in some outdoor activities and sports.

"MAINTAINING A HEALTHY WEIGHT"
I'm sure you do not want to have that belly flabs bouncing up and down every time you move right? It is important that you calculate your Body Mass Index (BMI) to check if your weight is appropriate to your height. Also check your waist measurement. For men, if you exceed 40 inches (women - 35 inches), you are already considered as overweight. Overweight people are prone to heart related diseases. Again, regular exercise should be done to lessen the risk of heart failures.

"STOP SMOKING"
Just like what the experts say, Cigarette smoking is dangerous to your health! Even the cigarette manufacturers are aware of this danger that's why they put warning signs on each cigarette packets. Cigarette has a addictive substance which can bring nothing but danger. The nicotine found in cigarette smoke makes your heart work harder by narrowing your blood vessels and increasing your heart rate and blood pressure. They said that once you quit smoking, the risk of heart disease drops dramatically. I just wish my dad is aware about this.

"EAT HEALTHY FOODS"
Foods are like magnet that attracts us. They are deceiving and used to tempt our innocent tummies. Too bad, most of those great tasting foods are the one falls into unhealthy diet. Remember that We are what we eat! So choose your foods wisely or else you'll regret it in the end. Avoid eating fatty foods too much to keep your heart healthy. Satisfy your cravings by looking for some other healthy food alternatives.

"VISIT THE DOCTOR"
They know what is good for you. Keep your medical records on tract. It is very advisable to take regular health screenings. They may recommend you some supplements too like nitric oxide that is known for being the best type of supplement that can lower High Blood Pressure, Stroke, High Cholesterol, Heart Attack, and oh even the Sex Drive Loss. Thanks to dr ignarro for his meritorious achievement for discovering the wonderful benefits of Nitric oxide to the public which won a Nobel Prize award in 1998 which also inspired other pharmaceutical companies too. Well known L-arganine is said to be based on Dr Ignarro's work but comes into cheaper and much affordable price.

Well, having a healthy lifestyle could be that easy and it's all up to us if we want to practice the said tips above or not.

Alter Space

April 22 will be the 41st World Earth Day Anniversary and we are planning to take our part on the said event. Unfortunately, this kind of event is often ignored by others without realizing how serious this environmental issue is. We were already threatened by the the incident happened in Japan and we should be expecting more scenarios that are worst than that if we continuously ignore this issue. I think it is about time! It's time for us to move, to take some actions and to pay more attention on how to save our environment. Joining an advocacy campaign that promotes ecological consciousness and environment sensitivity would be a great start but remember that these campaigns are intended only to give us awareness. Saving the environment is more than just being a part of an advocacy campaign or participating in a Run-for-a-cause events. Take note that saving the environment is a continuous process and if you really want to change our world for good, then start doing it all by yourself in your own simple yet very special way.
We are already familiar about that "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle" processes as they were being taught to us by our beloved teachers since grade school. Our teachers have done their part, now it's time for us to implement those lessons that we have learned from them. My siblings and I has been practicing this RRR thing already and we are up for a new challenge now. Yup! We are up for a challenge to save our environment in our own simple way.
REDUCE
Reduce is usually about
lessening the amount of items or resources that we consumed and by using only the amount that is needed. Electric Consumption is probably the best example of this. There are so many alternatives developed to lessen our energy consumption. We can use those energy-efficient compact fluorescent bulbs instead of the typical ones. We can turn off the lights when not in use or if you do not need light at all. Same thing goes with the water supply. many of us are too lazy to do these simple energy-conservation tasks and most of us do not realize the benefits that we can get from them in return. Remember that aside from helping the environment, you also get the chance to minimize your electric bills at the same time.
REUSE
Mom is fond of reusing items in our house. If you visit our kitchen, you'll see those plastic drinking bottles that she used again to place her condiments. Reusing items will help you not just to save the environment but also to save time, money, energy and resources.
RECYCLE
Among the three, recycle is my favorite concept of all. We used to recycle things especially when we're doing art projects. You all know that my siblings and I established a blog to showcase our crafts 2 years ago and until now it is still up and running. Here, let me proudly present you some of our recycled crafts. You can also teach your kids how to make one. This is a perfect time to bond with your kids too.

A Toy Race Car Made from used Styrofoam cups, empty box and drinking straw.

A Craft Organizer from an empty Package box.

Improvised Maracas from empty drinking bottles and pebbles.

Used mini boxes to a Toy Spaceship

A Toy Robot from all sort of junks.

With these simple ways of reusing, reducing and recycling materials, we can help to save our environment. I just hope everybody is aware about these because how if another disaster strikes again?
I know Milzon is too young to learn everything about this but you know what? Ever since he saw that Tsunami and Earthquake incidents in Japan on TV and even the Oil Spill happened in Mexico a year ago, he used to link those incidents on the "2012" film. Since then, he keep on asking me "Kuya, what will happen after 2012?", "What are we gonna do?, "Where are we going to hide?", "Where are we going to stay (in case we survived)?" and so on and so forth.
I know it's not right for him to be so pessimistic like that. Good thing these books come in handy.

I often read this book for him and he never get tired of listening to it which is a good thing!

These books provide awareness, ideas, trivia and tips on what to do if ever a disaster like Fire, Flood, Hurricane and Tornado strikes. Teaching your kids about these would be a great help so that they are aware about what's right from wrong. However this will be a big challenge for most parents since Kids nowadays used to spend most of their time playing their favorite video games on their PC. But did you know that we can now let them play on their PC while teaching them how to save the environment at the same time? Yup! I was able to discover a new Facebook Game few days ago. I was really hooked to it so if you are wondering why all my crops are withered already in Farmville and why my city on Cityville left unmaintained, it is because i am busy on saving my Planet in which i named Terra Verde from those harmful elements that can cause global warming. I am talking about "Alter Space" here. I know i am talking about Milzon awhile ago but this game is open for everyone even for kids at heart like me. Alter Space is the 1st Filipino environmental awareness game on Facebook which makes me really really proud and it is indeed very educational as it raise awareness on how to save our environment by conserving energy and by lowering the what so-called carbon emission.
Here is my detailed Review about the game. Just Click on Next to view the other images. (Thanks to SK for sharing this HTML scripting)
