Meharba means Hello in Turkey, and i guess it will be a perfect introductory word for our list for today. We will have our Get Out Portion but before that you may want to visit our previous destinations

"THE ISTANBUL TOY MUSEUM AND THE CITY O ISTANBUL"


The Istanbul Toy Museum is a small museum dedicated to toys. This very sweet museum was founded by Turkish novelist and poet Sunay Akin in 2005. Consists Sunay Akin's collection of 4,000 toys and miniatures from Turkey and abroad.
Meanwhile Sunay Akin has made serious efforts to convert the historical wooden kiosk, belonging to his family, into a cozy museum but really very beautiful. You certainly must see.

The city of Istanbul is the largest city in Turkey and fifth largest city proper in the world with a population of 12.6 million. Istanbul is also a megacity, as well as the cultural and financial centre of Turkey. The most popular places for swimming in the city are in Bakırköy, Küçükçekmece, Sarıyer and the Bosphorus. Outside the city are the Marmara Sea's Princes' Islands, Silivri and Tuzla; as well as Kilyos and Şile on the Black Sea.
Istanbul has numerous historic shopping centers, such as the Grand Bazaar , Mahmutpaşa Bazaar and the Egyptian Bazaar .The first modern shopping mall was Galleria Ataköy , which was followed by dozens of others in the later decades.

If you will go to Turkey well dont miss out their sweet delicacies.Lokum is a confection made from starch and sugar. It is often flavored with rosewater, mastic or lemon; rosewater gives it a characteristic pale pink color. It has a soft, jelly-like and sometimes sticky consistency, and is often packaged and eaten in small cubes dusted with icing sugar or copra to prevent clinging. Some types contain small nut pieces, usually pistachio, hazelnut or walnuts. Other common types include flavors such as cinnamon or mint.

We all know that Tulips are associated with Holland but did you know that the name and the flower itself was originated from turkey?
Although, it is unclear who first brought the flower to northwest Europe, it is the Turks who made tulip known in Europe.

Turkeys bird was named Turkey not because it was originated from Turkey! They were actually native to the forests of North America.When Europeans first encountered turkeys in the Americas they incorrectly identified the birds as a type of guineafowl (Numididae), also known as Turkey fowl (or Turkey hen and Turkey cock) from their importation to Central Europe through Turkey, and that name, shortened to just the name of the country, stuck as the name of the bird.

Well, if you read the bible,The Mountains of Ararat is the place named in the Book of Genesis where Noah's ark came to rest after the great flood.Abrahamic tradition associates the mountains of Ararat with Mount Ararat in present day Turkey. Historians have long sought to corroborate the biblical reference to the "mountains of Ararat" with Mount Ararat, or to ascertain the actual location of the mountains mentioned in the account. The Book of Jubilees specifies that the Ark came to rest on one of the peaks of the "Mountains of Ararat" called "Lubar"

Hagia Sophia is a former patriarchal basilica, later a mosque, now a museum in Istanbul, Turkey. Famous in particular for its massive dome, it is considered the epitome of Byzantine architecture and to have "changed the history of architecture."It was the largest cathedral in the world for nearly a thousand years, until the completion of the Seville Cathedral in 1520

The temple was also known less precisely as Temple of Diana, was a Greek temple dedicated to Artemis completed— in its most famous phase— around 550 BC at Ephesus (in present-day Turkey). Though the monument was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, only foundations and sculptural fragments of the temple remain. There were previous temples on its site, where evidence of a sanctuary dates as early as the Bronze Age.

The Tomb of Mausolus, Mausoleum of Mausolus or Mausoleum at Halicarnassus was a tomb built between 353 and 350 BC at Halicarnassus (present Bodrum, Turkey) for Mausolus, a satrap in the Persian Empire, and Artemisia II of Caria, his wife and sister.
The finished structure was considered to be such an aesthetic triumph that Antipater of Sidon identified it as one of his Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
