BLOG IDOL ROUND 1

Blog Idol Season 3 officially starts today! For first round we're hitting Motown Music!

Motown played an important role in the racial integration of popular music, as it was the first record label owned by an African American to primarily feature African-American artists who achieved crossover success. In the 1960s, Motown and its soul-based subsidiaries were the most successful proponents of what came to be known as The Motown Sound, a style of soul music with a distinct pop influence.

now here are the entries!

Caroline May Ling song recorded by The Temptations which became a number one hit in 1965.Here's her Motown entry:

Fjordan Allegro submitted an R&B/soul song originally sung by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell and then later recorded by Diana Ross.

Nisha Ahmed submitted a signature song of The Jackson Five.

Bananaz picked a popular song written, produced, arranged, and performed by Stevie Wonder.

'SUPERSTITION"



Faisal Admar submitted a song performed by The Marvelletes which is very notable for being the first Motown song to reach the number-one position on the Billboard Hot 100. It was later sung by The Carpenters

Ishmael Ahab picked a song originally sung by Marcin Gaye but later rerecorded by Junior Walker and the All Star Band.

Sendo Quilao
submitted another funk song from Stevie Wonder. Here's a soulful Motown entry from Sendo:
"HIGHER GROUND"




Mariuca submitted a number one hit song from the most popular quintet of the Jackson Five. It was a smash hit single which is also inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.

Fiel-Kun submitted a 1978 single from the funk/soul band the Commodores. Here's his Motown Entry:
'THREE TIMES A LADY"




Marites picked a classic entry from Diana Ross and the Supremes. Here's her soulful Motown entry:
"STOP IN THE NAME OF LOVE"



Stevevhan submitted a Classic duet from Diana Ross and Lionel Richie which is also consider as the Greatest duet of all time.

Last but not the least, Bill picked another classic song from Temptation Song. here's his Motown entry:
