Family Reunion

I never hit the beach alone. We usually go there in group. Well, i am not an outdoor type of guy who usually hangs out with friends because I prefer more to stay inside my house and do my online activities. But of course, if there are special occasions like birthday and family reunion, i always make sure that i am present in that event. Just like last year, when my aunt invited us and rest of our relatives to organize a family reunion in the beach. It is actually a private resort and we stayed there overnight. Well, the beach resort doesn’t have many cottages so they rent some commercial canopies to provide more space to shade. In fact, we also used these canopies to placed tables for our buffet style party. Anyway, we really had so much fun last year. I am not that so sure if we are going to have another reunion this year knowing that some of our relatives went back abroad to work again. Well, good thing we still have connection with them via phone and online chatting. But if ever someone invites us again, i would like to suggest not hitting the beach anymore and go for climbing instead. I knew some places near in our area where we can “mountain climb” and have some camping experience. Well of course, unlike beaches, here, we have to bring our own things like tents or even pop up canopies to provide shelter to us, knowing that there are no easy-to-rent cottages there.

Ultimate TV Experience

Just like what i said earlier, i am a certified tv fanatic. However, i feel like something is lacking every time i watch my favorite tv shows. Could you imagine, i was like starring so close to our 14 inch tv because i want to see every single details of the show. Anyway, i am not that rich guy and i don't have enough savings to afford such 22 inch LCD TV and bring the entertainment to its fullest. I guess you will all agree that having lcd tv in your house can provide the best tv experience ever especially when you are watching hd channels right? For the mean time, i will just stick for this TV i have in my room but i will try to use my ultimate convincing power to convince and encourage my mom to buy one for us. Wish me luck! haha

TOP 4 MOST POPULAR PUSSYCAT CHARACTER

"FELIX THE CAT"

Felix the Cat is a cartoon character created in the silent-film era. His black body, white eyes, and giant grin, coupled with the surrealism of the situations in which his cartoons place him, combined to make Felix one of the most recognizable cartoon characters in the world. On 9 November 1919, Master Tom, a character resembling Felix, debuted in a Paramount Pictures short entitled Feline Follies. Produced by the New York City-based animation studio owned by Pat Sullivan, the cartoon was directed by cartoonist and animator Otto Messmer. It was a success, and the Sullivan studio quickly set to work on producing another film featuring Master Tom, The Musical Mews (released 16 November 1919). It too proved to be successful with audiences. Otto Messmer gave two different versions of how Felix got his name, the one on his official site ”Rejoining Sullivan with a great idea for a new character named Felix the CAT Nevertheless, Felix's success was fading by the late 1920s with the arrival of sound cartoons. These new shorts, particularly those of Walt Disney's Mickey Mouse, had made the silent offerings of Sullivan and Messmer, who were then unwilling to move to sound production, seem outdated. In 1929, Sullivan decided to finally make the transition and began distributing Felix sound cartoons through Copley Pictures. The sound Felix shorts proved to be a failure and the operation ended in 1930 with Sullivan himself passing away in 1933. Felix saw a brief three cartoon resurrection in 1936 by the Van Beuren Studios.

TOP 3 MOST POPULAR PUSSYCAT CHARACTER

"TOM"

Tom and Jerry is a successful and long-running series of theatrical short subjects created by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer that centered on a never-ending rivalry between a housecat (Tom) and a brown mouse (Jerry) whose chases and battles often involved comic violence. Hanna and Barbera ultimately wrote and directed one hundred and fourteen Tom and Jerry cartoons Tom is a Russian Blue cat, who lives a pampered life, while Jerry is a small brown house mouse who always lives in close proximity to him. "Tom" is a generic name for a male cat or tomcat (the Warner Bros. cartoon character Sylvester was originally called "Thomas"). Tom was originally called "Jasper" in the very first short, Puss Gets the Boot. Tom is very quick-tempered and thin-skinned, while Jerry is independent and opportunistic. Jerry also possesses surprising strength for his size, lifting items such as anvils with relative ease and withstanding considerable impacts with them. Despite being very energetic and determined, Tom is no match for Jerry's brains and wits.

TOP 2 MOST POPULAR PUSSYCAT CHARACTER

"GARFIELD"

Garfield is a daily-syndicated comic strip created by Jim Davis. Published since June 19, 1978, it chronicles the life of the title character, the cat Garfield (named for Davis's grandfather); his owner, Jon Arbuckle; and the dog, Odie. As of 2007, it is syndicated in roughly 2,580 newspapers and journals and currently holds the Guinness World Record for being the world's most widely syndicated comic strip. Garfield quickly became a commercial success. In 1981, less than three years after its release, the strip appeared in 850 newspapers and accumulated over $15 million in merchandise. To manage the merchandise, Davis founded Paws, Inc. 2002, Garfield became the world's most syndicated strip, appearing in 2570 newspapers with 263 million readers worldwide by 2004, Garfield appeared in nearly 2600 newspapers and sold from $750 million to $1 billion worth of merchandise in 111 countriesAs it progressed, the strip underwent stylistic changes. The appearance of Garfield was probably the most notable; he underwent a "Darwinian evolution" in which he began walking on his hind legs, "slimmed down", and "stopped looking [...] through squinty little eyes". His evolution, according to Davis, was to make it easier to "push Odie off the table" or "reach for a piece of pi

THE MOST POPULAR PUSSYCAT ARTOON CHARACTER

"SYLVESTER"

Sylvester J. Pussycat, Sr., or simply, Sylvester the Cat, or Sylvester is a fictional character, a three-time Academy Award-winning anthropomorphic cat who appears in more than 90 Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies cartoons made from 1945 to 1966, often chasing Tweety Bird, Speedy Gonzales, or Hippety Hopper. The name "Sylvester" is a play on silvestris, the scientific name for the domestic cat species. Sylvester's trademark was his sloppy, stridulating lisp.In his autobiography, That's Not All Folks!, voice actor Mel Blanc stated that Sylvester's voice is based on that of Daffy Duck, plus the even-more-slobbery lisp, and minus the post-production speed-up that was done with Daffy's. Conventional wisdom is that Daffy's lisp, and hence also Sylvester's, were based on producer Leon Schlesinger's. However, Blanc made no such claim. He said that Daffy's lisp was based on him having a long beak, and that he borrowed the voice for Sylvester.Sylvester is a tuxedo cat who shows much pride in himself, and never gives up. Despite (or perhaps because of) his pride and persistence, Sylvester was, with rare exceptions, placed squarely on the "loser" side of the Looney Tunes winner/loser hierarchy. His character was basically that of Wile E. Coyote while he was chasing mice or birds. (One cartoon episode The Wild Chase paired Sylvester and Wile E. Coyote against the Road Runner and Speedy Gonzales. In the end both Sylvester and Wile E. fail as usual.) He shows a different character when paired with Porky Pig in explorations of spooky places, in which he doesn't speak as a scaredy cat. (In these cartoons, he basically plays the terrified Costello to Porky's oblivious Abbott.)

Entertainment To the Fullest!

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of TiVo. All opinions are 100% mine.

Finally, after the long wait, my all time favorite musical comedy series, Glee, is set to air this coming Wednesday for its Season 2 Premier. Well, I am very excited about this upcoming season because our very own Charice Pempengco will play a very special role as Sunshine Corazon, a Filipina Foreign exchange student and will join the cast of Glee. I saw the teaser already and I just can’t wait to watch it. However, Glee airs every Tuesdays and Wednesdays and i am quite worried to miss some of its episodes knowing that the day and the time slot are quite conflicting with my schedule. If we only have TiVo DVR here in our house, I have nothing to worry about missing any episodes of my favorite tv programs especially now that there are great line up of upcoming shows this fall including one of the newest funny sitcom, Mike and Molly, top billed by Billy Gardell and Melissa McCarthy which premiered yesterday . I went to TiVo’s main site last night to check it’s Fall TV Guru Guide (one of the site’s feature that provides list of upcoming shows this fall) and i found out that Undercovers, an action spy television series is set to premiere tomorrow. Undercovers are created by my favorite director J.J. Abrams, who is also the creator of award winning shows like Alias and Lost Series. Actually, TiVo is more than just a Digital Video Recorder! Because you can also use TiVo search to find your favorite TV programs, movies and Web video whether it’s on cable, Netflix, Amazon On Demand, Blockbuster On Demand, YouTube videos or more. TiVo Premiere is probably the most ideal gadget for certified tv fanatic like me. Actually, i heard that TiVo is giving away TiVo Slide Remote, a remote with fully retractable keyboard that makes entering texts quick and easy. They will be giving away TiVo Slides everyday for 30 days. Just visit or “like” them at their Facebook Fan Page to see more about the details of the contest. TOP FIVE MOST FAVORITE FRUITS

This Top Five Entry is submitted by our friend Fiel-kun
here's
TOP FIVE MOST FAVORITE TROPICAL FRUITS

TOP 5 MOST FAVORITE TROPICAL FRUIT

"BANANA"

In popular culture and commerce, "banana" usually refers to soft, sweet "dessert" bananas. They are native to tropical Southeast Asia, and are likely to have been first domesticated in Papua New Guinea. Today, they are cultivated throughout the tropics. They are grown in at least 107 countries, primarily for their fruit, and to a lesser extent to make fiber and as ornamental plants. Bananas are eaten deep fried, baked in their skin in a split bamboo, or steamed in glutinous rice wrapped in a banana leaf. Bananas can be made into jam. Banana pancakes are popular amongst backpackers and other travelers in South Asia and Southeast Asia.

TOP 4 MOST FAVORITE TROPICAL FRUIT
"GUAVA"

Guavas are native to Mexico, Central America, and northern South America. Guavas are now cultivated and naturalized throughout the tropics and subtropics in Southeast Asia, the Caribbean, Florida and Africa. Guava fruit generally have a pronounced and typical fragrance, similar to lemon rind but less sharp. Guava pulp may be sweet or sour, off-white ("white" guavas) to deep pink ("red" guavas), with the seeds in the central pulp of variable number and hardness, again depending on species. Guavas are often included among superfruits, being rich in dietary fiber, vitamins A and C, folic acid, and the dietary minerals, potassium, copper and manganese.

TOP 3 MOST FAVORITE TROPICAL FRUIT
"COCONUT"

Botanically the coconut fruit is a drupe, not a true nut. Coconuts sold in the shops of non-tropical countries often have had the exocarp (outermost layer) removed. The mesoocarp or "shell" thus exposed is the hardest part of the coconut, and is composed of fibers called coir which have many traditional and commercial uses. Coconut milk, known as gata in the Philippines, and coconut flakes are popularly used for cookings, such as the food like Laing, Ginataan, Bibingka, Coconut Rice, Ube Halaya, Pich Pichi, Palitaw, Cassava Cake and many more. Coconut Juice is commonly served with ice and is great refresher.

TOP 2 MOST FAVORITE TROPICAL FRUIT
"MANGO"

Mango is commonly cultivated in many tropical and subtropical regions, and its fruit is distributed essentially world-wide. Mango is now cultivated in most frost-free tropical and warmer subtropical climates; nearly half of the world's mangoes are cultivated in India alone. Mango is generally sweet, although the taste and texture of the flesh varies across cultivars, some having a soft, pulpy texture similar to an over-ripe plum, while the flesh of others is firmer, like a cantaloupe or avocado, or may have a fibrous texture. For consumption of unripe, pickled or cooked fruit, the mango skin may be consumed comfortably, but has potential to cause contact dermatitis (above) of the lips, gingiva or tongue in susceptible people. In ripe fruits which are commonly eaten fresh, the skin may be thicker and bitter tasting, so is typically not eaten.

TTHE MOST FAVORITE TROPICAL FRUIT
"WATERMELON"

A watermelon contains about 6% sugar and 92% water by weight. As with many other fruits, it is a source of vitamin C. Notable is the inner rind of the watermelon, which is usually a light green or white color. This area is edible and contains many hidden nutrients that most people avoid eating due to its unappealing flavor. Watermelon rinds are also edible, and sometimes used as a vegetable. In China, they are stir-fried, stewed or more often pickled. When stir-fried, the de-skinned and de-fruited rind is cooked with olive oil, garlic, chili peppers, scallions, sugar and rum. Pickled watermelon rind is also commonly consumed in the Southern US. Watermelon juice can also be made into wine. Watermelon is also mildly diuretic and a good source of lycopene.
