Rin is the type of person who can be very protective, violent yet kindhearted. He also has a soft spot for animals too. Rin grew up a normal life and in his youth, he started to learn how to cook which eventually become his natural talent. He even got hired in a supermarket because of his skills in cooking. He is an amazing cook indeed and in fact, he used it in a cook-battle against the stove spirit Ukobach. He cooks frequently, and sometimes Yukio's admirers mistake his lunch boxes for the lunch boxes of another girl.

In this legendary ocean, it is said that there are fish from each of the four seas, and to have such a resource at one's disposal is the ultimate dream of every chef. Considering that he is a pirate, Sanji's specialty are Sea Food dishes and of course, these dishes are not so ordinary because some of his recipe might include meats from giant sea monsters he caught himself. This is also the reason why he is using his legs in fighting rather than his hands since they are the most important parts in every chef.

Lui Mao fight off against the Underground Cooking Society, an organized group which aims to control all of China through the cooking field. Even though he doesn't have much experience, Mao has the pride of a truly experienced chef and having learned from his mother that a chef's purpose is to create a dish that makes people happy, he always put his customers' needs first and is always able to make a creative dish that greatly satisfies them. A character of a true chef indeed.

He may not be the main character in the anime but Komatsu has proven a lot that makes him truly deserving in this top spot. Among all the chefs listed here, Komatsu is the only one who is a certified six star chef. He is Toriko's ever enthusiastic yet timid chef partner, who despite his weakness is greatly interested by what he finds in his travels with Toriko. As a result, he tries to overcome his fear and does his best to help. Toriko, by the way is more of a Gourmet Hunter rather than a sole chef. He is also currently the only chef to successfully recreate the Century Soup, a rare and high-class ingredient, considered one of the greatest soups in the world.
