These are the fairytale that all of us are familiar with but not your kids. Kids of today are not aware with these fairy tales any more. They maybe familiar with Snow White, Cinderella and Sleeping beauty because these characters are being featured by Disney, Barbie or even in Shrek.
So you may want to refresh these stories to your kids.
TOP 5 ALMOST FORGOTTEN FAIRYTALE
" THE THREE MUSKETEERS"
Okay we all know who the 3 musketeers are but how about your kids? Are they aware who are these characters? The Story is set in the 17th century, it recounts the adventures of a young man named d'Artagnan after he leaves home to become a guard of the musketeers. D'Artagnan is not one of the musketeers of the title; those are his friends Athos, Porthos, and Aramis, inseparable friends who live by the motto "all for one, one for all".
TOP 4 ALMOST FORGOTTEN FAIRYTALE
"THE PRINCESS AND THE PEA"
Snowwhite, Cinderella, Aurora, Belle, and Ariel are few of the famous Fairytale princesses but so sad this princess don't have a name. The story tells of a prince who wants to marry a princess, but is having difficulty finding a suitable partner. Something is always wrong with those he meets, and he cannot be certain they are real princesses. One stormy night (always a harbinger of either a life-threatening situation or the opportunity for a romantic alliance in Andersen's stories), a young woman drenched with rain seeks shelter in the prince's castle. She claims to be a princess, so the prince's mother decides to test their unexpected guest by placing a pea in the bed she is offered for the night, covered by 20 mattresses and 20 featherbeds. In the morning the guest tells her hosts—in a speech colored with double entendres—that she endured a sleepless night, kept awake by something hard in the bed; which she is certain has bruised her. The prince rejoices. Only a real princess would have the sensitivity to feel a pea through such a quantity of bedding. The two are married, and the pea is placed in the Royal Museum.

"THE EMPEROR'S NEW CLOTHES"
I myself is not familiar with the story. It was created by Hans Christian Andersen but it failed to provide a great spark unlike Andersen's famous Little Mermaid. The Story is about an Emperor who cares for nothing but his wardrobe hires two weavers who promise him the finest suit of clothes from a fabric invisible to anyone who is unfit for his position or "just hopelessly stupid". The Emperor cannot see the cloth himself, but pretends that he can for fear of appearing unfit for his position or stupid; his ministers do the same. When the swindlers report that the suit is finished, they dress him in mime and the Emperor then marches in procession before his subjects. A child in the crowd calls out that the Emperor is wearing nothing at all and the cry is taken up by others. The Emperor cringes, suspecting the assertion is true, but holds himself up proudly and continues the procession.
TOP 2 ALMOST FORGOTTEN FAIRYTALE
"RUMPELSTILTSKIN"
the name itself is very forgetable. Lol. Good thing Shrek 4 make his character alive again. In order to make himself appear more important, a miller lied to the king that his daughter could spin straw into gold. The king called for the girl, shut her in a tower room with straw and a spinning wheel, and demanded that she spin the straw into gold by morning, for three nights, or be executed. She had given up all hope, when a dwarfish creature appeared in the room and spun straw into gold for her in return for her pearl necklace, then again the following night for her ring. On the third night, when she had nothing with which to reward him, the strange creature spun straw into gold for a promise that the girl's first-born child would become his. And the only way to give up his claim to the child is when queen could guess his name in three days. She failed twice and on the third day and she revealed his name, Rumpelstiltskin lost his bargain.
THE ALMOST FORGOTTEN FAIRYTALE
"THE LITTLE MATCH GIRL"
"The little Match Girl" is a short story by Danish poet and author Hans Christian Andersen. The story is about a dying child's hallucinations. On a cold New Year’s Eve, a poor girl tries to sell matches in the street. She is freezing badly, but she is afraid to go home because her father will beat her for not selling any matches. She takes shelter in a nook and lights the matches to warm herself. In their glow, she sees several lovely visions including a Christmas tree and a holiday feast. The girl looks skyward, sees a shooting star, and remembers her deceased grandmother saying that such a falling star means someone died and is going into Heaven. As she lights her next match, she sees a vision of her grandmother, the only person to have treated her with love and kindness. She strikes one match after another to keep the vision of her grandmother nearby for as long as she can. The child dies and her grandmother carries her soul to Heaven. The next morning, passers-by find the dead child in the nook.
