TOP FIVE BEST GLEE COVERS

We're just counting hours before the much awaited Glee Season 3 and I'm really really excited for it. There are so many things to expect this season including the appearance of The Glee Project winners Damain and Samuel. Both Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth will reprise their roles as Shelby Carcoran and April Rhodes. They said that there will be lesser song numbers and guest performers in this season because they will focus more on the story.
As an avid Glee fan, I listed below five of my favorite covers from the show. Again, this are my personal picks and the entry is not done subjectively.

TOP FIVE BEST GLEE COVERS

"TOP 5 BEST GLEE COVER"
"LIKE A PRAYER"

Like a Prayer is a song featured in the season one tribute episode The Power of Madonna. It's sung at the end of the episode by New Directions. It's originally sung by Madonna on her fourth studio album Like a Prayer. Rachel sings the opening lines. Finn, Kurt, Mercedes, and Jesse also have solos, although Jesse is only featured in the album version. Amber Riley's mother makes an appearance with her church choir for the performance (Amber is seen dancing with her).

TOP 4 BEST GLEE COVER"
"LEAN ON ME"

Lean on Me is a song featured in the season one episode Ballad. It is sung by all of New Directions as a ballad dedicated to Finn and Quinn because of the baby drama. The song tells Finn and Quinn that the group will support them throughout the whole journey of Quinn's pregnancy. Mercedes and Artie both have solos in this song. This is the song used in the ads for Glee: The Music, Volume 2. (I like their version of "Imagine" too)

TOP 3 BEST GLEE COVER"
"I WANT TO HOLD YOUR HAND"

I Want to Hold Your Hand is a song that was featured in the season two episode Grilled Cheesus and is sung by Kurt Hummel. It was originally performed by The Beatles and was released as a single in 1963. Kurt sings this song to express his love for his dad, Burt Hummel, who is in a coma in the hospital after falling victim to a near-fatal heart attack During the song, the Glee club members are near to tears. I actually prefer this version than the Orginal Beatles. They change the song from being an Upbeat and happy song to a powerful Ballad.

TOP 2 BEST GLEE COVER"
"FOR GOOD"

For Good is a song featured in the season two finale New York. It was originally performed in the musical Wicked on Broadway by the characters Elphaba and Glinda, portrayed by Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth (the characters Shelby Corcoran and April Rhodes respectively). It's the second song Glee features from Wicked (the first being Defying Gravity in season one). Both songs are sung by Kurt and Rachel. Defying Gravity is one of my favorite songs from Wicked but "For Good" is what I love the most.

THE BEST GLEE COVER"
"DON'T STOP BELIEVIN'"

Even though I get tired of this song, I still believe that it deserves to be on the top spot. The song is originally sung by the popular band Journey from their 1981 album Escape. It was covered by the cast of the American television series Glee during the Pilot episode. It was the first single released from the soundtrack of the series, Glee: The Music, Volume 1 and was performed on the first episode of the season, Pilot. It was also the first song to be sung by New Directions as a performance in the the school auditorium, and it's the show's main song for season one, being sung four times (Pilot, Quinn's version, Haverbrook School for the Deaf, and Regionals). As a result, the original Don't Stop Believin has become Glee's most iconic cover and is recognizable around the world.

My top would be "I Want To Hold Your Hand" .. ^_^
I agree with "I Want To Hold Your Hand" being in the list! I personally loved "Poker Face" by Lea Michele and Idina Menzel. :) I enjoyed that a lot. I also loved Chris Colfer's cover for "Blackbird".. I loved it. I didn't mind the Warblers version of Maroon 5's, "Misery".

But most of my faves were from Season 1. :) And you're right, Don't Stop Believin' has been so overplayed and I'm sick of it, but it's so iconic and the reason Glee rose to it's fame and be what it is today! :)
