Forbes just released another interesting list of American Idol Top Earners. American Idol is just a stepping point for them and the real challenge will start once they all have their own record label which will measure how effective they are as an artist and if they are really deserving to be named as American Idol.

TOP 5 HIGHEST AMERICAN IDOL EARNER
"KELLY CLARKSON"
According to Yahoo!, Kelly Clarkson went down to fifth spot from being number 2 last year. She earned he earned $2.5 million in the past 12 months but for me, it is very understandable knowing that she didn't release any new single or album this year. Her last album was released last year. They said that Kelly is currently working on her fifth album which will be released later this year.

"JORDIN SPARKS"
The "Tattoo" and "No Air" singer made it to the forth spot. She earned $3 million this year. It's very surprising that according to Forbes, only 5 American Idol Winners made it on their Top 12 list that exclude Ruben Studdard, Taylor Hicks, Kris Allen and Lee DeWyze. Scotty McCeery on the other hand is just starting his career out of being American Idol winner. Well, let see if he can make it next year.

TOP 3 HIGHEST AMERICAN IDOL EARNER
"FANTASIA BARRINO"
The third American Idol Winner is on the third spot this year. After all her financial issues in the previous years, Fantasia managed to bring herself up. She earned $4 million this year. Thanks to her reality show "Fantasia For Real" which ended its second season last November. The show was the highest rated Show in VH1 last year. And I guess, we will be seeing her in this list again next year because Fantasia was set to do a biopic film portraying Mahalia Jackson. Oh and there's a possibility too that she'll do the upcoming Aretha Franklin biopic.

TOP 2 HIGHEST AMERICAN IDOL EARNER
"CHRIS DAUGHTRY AND ADAM LAMBERT"
Both of this non American Idol winners made it on the second spot beating their fellow Idol winners, Taylor Hicks (season 5) and Kris Allen (season 8). Both of them earned a total of $6 million this year. Adam Lambert was not included on the top 10 earners last year. His "For Your Entertainment Album sold more than 821,000 copies and his Glam Nation tour was also a big success. I don't know if his working on a new album this year but his kinda busy right now with his love life. Chris Daughtry on the other hand, tweeted that his band is working on a new album.

"CARRIE UNDERWOOD"
No doubt, Carrie Underwood is the most successful Idol Winner, earning $20 million (that's more than a half compare to Adam and Chris earnings). She even made her first movie debut this year as she was one of the cast of "Soul Surfer". Carrie is featured on "Remind Me", a duet with Brad Paisley. She has also a duet with Tony Bennett on his 2011 album Duets II and another duet with Randy Travis on his 2011 Anniversary Celebration album. Underwood will be one of the headliners of the iHeartRadio Music Festival. The event will take place on September 23 and 24, 2011. That means more "Kaching" for her! hehe
