Ever wonder how much time we lose because of waiting? If you order a meal for example whether it's in a fast food restaurant or not, you'll have to wait because you have to give the servers enough time to prepare your food. If you're working in a company whether you are highly compensated or not, you still have to wait for the 15th or 30th of each month before you get paid. If you're courting someone and if you are pretty serious about it, then you also have to wait until until you get her sweet Yes.
See? Waiting has been a part of our everyday routine. It just so happen that not everything that we want can be acquired instantly. Sometimes, we really have to wait and be patient about it. We have to bear those sacrifices as long as we can if we are really determined to get them. Patience is indeed a virtue but I don't think this cliche is applicable all the time. There are some instances that waiting is not really necessary but people still dealing with it because that's the kind of process they got used to. Why should we wait if there are ways to expedite the process right? What we need is something like nTrust which i will discuss further later on.
In partnership with nTrust, I conducted my own observation on how much time we actually lose and waste during a regular day. Luckily, i was about to pay our bills and process some papers so I grabbed that opportunity to do my observation. I know for the fact that I will be dealing with long queues so I grabbed my sister with me and hit the mall as early as we could.
We were able to arrive at exactly 10:15 am. Fortunately, the mall is already open so we don't have to deal with long inspection queue.
My first goal is to cash out some money to pay my bills and I am also planning to send some cash to my auntie. A long queue actually came to us by surprise. I never thought that long queues will welcome us as early as 10 am. I just failed to realized that it was Payday that time and it's really a wrong timing for both of us. But then again, i have to bear with it or else, commuting for like 30 minutes will just be a waste of time.
This photo was taken at SM Molino Center while people were lining up for ATM Kiosk Machine to withdraw their money. If you want to avoid long line-ups go to nTrust.com.
There are 4 ATM Kiosk Machines here but only 2 were currently working that day as a result people had to queue and wait for their turn. There was actually a lady who took almost 20 minutes in the machine as if she's trying to cash all her money out from her ATM.
Arrived: 10:20 am
Queued: 30 minutes (approximate time)
Processed: 5 minutes
Finally, after our turn, we went over to the Information Center to pay my bills. As expected, another long queue will welcome us and guess what, the queue is longer than what we had in the ATM Kiosks area.
This photo was taken at SM Molino Information Center while people were lining up to pay their bills. If you want to avoid long line-ups go to nTrust.com.
If you're a short tempered guy or you do not have enough patience in waiting, then I suggest you not to visit this place especially during the peak days. Information Center is a place where people can pay their bills (Electric, Water, Phone, Internet, and more). Despite of the advantage of paying all your bills at once without the need of going directly to their main branches, you still have to wait and bear with this long queue.
Arrived: 11:02 am
Queued: 45 minutes (approximate time)
Processed: 10 minutes
After that very tiring queue, Mirasol and I decided to buy some snack first but who would have thought that buying snacks will cost you another 20 minutes of waiting?
These photo was taken at SM Molino Department Store while people were lining up in the counter area to present their items to the cashier. If you want to avoid long line-ups go to nTrust.com.
Gosh! We're carrying a pair of snacks and bottled drinks and we still have to wait for another round of time. Look at those people ahead of me carrying baskets filled with goods and imagine how long will it took for a cashier to process it manually? I am grateful that they made a special lane for people who purchased few items to avoid long queues but I guess they should have made another lane to make it faster.
Arrived: Almost 12
Queued: 25 minutes (approximate time)
Processed: 10 minutes
I'm done with the bills and my sister and I were both TIRED but we have to visit a remittance center to send my auntie some cash. It was actually requested by our mom so we really have to obey her.
These photo was taken at a Local Remittance Center while people were lining up to remit or to send money. If you want to avoid long line-ups go to nTrust.com.
As expected, I encountered another long queue. When I was working in Manila, I used to visit a Remittance Center at least twice or thrice a month (every payday) to remit money to my parents in the province. There are actually two ways for my parents to received the money, it's either the "Door to Door Delivery" or they have to "Pick Up" the money in the nearest branch. Unfortunately, the nearest branch is way too far from our place so I have to take the Door to Door delivery option which usually takes 2-3 business days. The company is a legit one and they will deliver the money completely but I wish that could have done something to expedite their process of shipping. Same thing can be applied to overseas workers because this is also their way on How to transfer money to the Philippines.
Arrived: 12:40 pm
Queued: 20 minutes (approximate time)
Processed: 5 minutes
Wow, I just can't imagine how much time did we consume by simply waiting for our turn. If we will analyze carefully and if we will try to eliminate those queuing time, we will arrive at 10:15 am and done processing everything at around 10:45 to 11 pm so that's 30-45 minutes overall . The average time that we consumed in waiting is 120 minutes or nearly 2 hours. Imagine how much time we lose and waste simply because of waiting? I can do lots of valuable things within that 2 hours.
►2 hours is enough to finish my daily blogging routine.
►2 hours is enough to finish my articles and reviews.
► 2 hours nearly cover an entire Catholic mass
► 2 hours is enough to watch a complete movie
►2 hours is enough to cook and prepare your dish
►2 hours is enough for me to review my brother for his upcoming periodical exam.
►2 hours covers 4 drama series on TV
►2 hours is enough to bond with your family or friends
