Heya! Here's another Anime-related entry for you guys. I've mentioned in my early post that I will make an entry related to K-On and so I ended up with this category. Listed below are five of the most notable anime bands. Enjoy! I also included Youtube Videos showing their performances.

TOP 5 MOST POPULAR ANIME BAND
"GIRLS DEAD MONSTER"
(FROM ANGEL'S BEAT)
The story takes place in the afterlife and focuses on Otonashi, a boy who lost his memories of his life after dying. He is enrolled into the afterlife school and meets a girl named Yuri who invites him to join the SSS—an organization she leads which fights against God. The SSS fight against the student council president Angel, a girl with supernatural powers. The Anime introduced a girl band known as Girls Dead Monster who became a part of the SSS organization and whose objective in the SSS is to cause a diversion from other activities the SSS is engaged in, while on the surface appearing to be a normal all female band. This includes distracting Angel and a large number of "normal" students and teachers at the school Yuri deems "non-player characters" as they are not human, but look and act the part.

TOP 4 MOST POPULAR ANIME BAND
"ENOZ"
(FROM THE MELANCHOLY OF HARUHI SUZUMIYA)
ENOZ is an acronym which derives from the last names of each of the members; Miyuki Enomoto (Vocalist/guitarist), Takako Nakanishi(guitarist), Mikuzi Okajimi(drummer), and Mai Zaizen (bassist). One of the most remarkable moment from this anime is when Haruhi and Yuki performed for this band in Live Alive during the Cultural Festival when Miyuki and Takako were injured. The name “ENOZ” is a parody of a real-life J-Pop band named “ZONE”. Due to this, instead of 3 members as originally written in the novel, the band has 4 members in the Anime. The instruments that ENOZ use mirror that of what the ZONE members use, and even the name of the members are also similar to that of the real ZONE.

TOP 3 MOST POPULAR ANIME BAND
"BLACKSTONES"
(FROM NANA)
I haven't watched the anime yet but i heard so many positive reviews about Nana. As a matter of fact, this Manga-turned-anime was also adapted into a film. The manga derives its title from the name of the two main characters, both of whom are called Nana. One comes from a small town and follows her friends and boyfriend to Tokyo with the hope of having the dream life that she wishes for. The other comes to Tokyo with the goal of making it big with her band, Black Stones. Nana Osaki is a punk singer who wants to debut with her band, Black Stones (BLAST for short), where she is the lead vocalist and her boyfriend, Ren, is the bassist. Nana Komatsu, the other Nana, has a habit of falling in love at first sight all the time, and depending on other people to help her. The two Nanas meet on a train by chance, both on their way to Tokyo. After a string of coincidences, they come to live together in an apartment numbered 707 (nana means "seven" in Japanese). Despite having contrasting personalities and ideals, the Nanas respect each other and become close friends.
While BLackStones begins to gain popularity at live gigs, the two Nanas face many other issues together, especially in the areas of friendship and romance. The story of Nana revolves heavily around the romance and relationships of the two characters as one seeks fame and recognition while the other seeks love and happiness.
(Blackstones ~ Lovin You)
TOP 2 MOST POPULAR ANIME BAND
"BECK"
(FROM BECK: MONGOLIAN CHOP SQUAD)
BECK tells the story of a group of Japanese teenagers who form a rock band. Yukio, known by his friends as "Koyuki", is a regular 14-year-old Japanese boy who enters junior high school with two childhood acquaintances. One is a pervert, and ironically the other is a highly sought after female student. Koyuki's boring life is changed when he saves an odd-looking dog, named Beck, from some kids. Beck's owner turns out to be an emerging rock musician, Ryūsuke Minami, who soon influences Koyuki to start playing the guitar, and even gives one to him. The story focuses on the trials and tribulations of their rock band named BECK, and Koyuki's relationships with the members of the band, in particular Ryûsuke Minami and his sister, Maho Minami. The manga contains many references and tributes to classic rock and popular culture. Nearly every other chapter has a mock cover of a popular rock album with characters from the manga in place of the people usually pictured, including Radiohead's The Bends, The Beatles' Rubber Soul, Oasis' Definitely Maybe and many more. It was also adapted in a Live action film.

THE MOST POPULAR ANIME BAND
"AFTER SCHOOL TEA TIME"
(FROM K-ON)
I don't mean to be bias here but for me, K-On is the best anime among the list. Well, first, it's very light and the music are so nice and soothing to hear. K-On!'s story revolves around four Japanese high school girls who join Sakuragaoka Girl's High School's light music club to try to save it from being abolished. However, they are the only members of the club, and at first Yui Hirasawa, the main character, has no experience playing musical instruments or reading sheet music. Eventually, she learns how to be an excellent guitar player. Since then, Yui, bassist Mio Akiyama, drummer Ritsu Tainaka, and keyboardist Tsumugi Kotobuki spend their school days practicing, performing, or just hanging out together. In their second year of high school, the club welcomes another guitarist, an underclassman named Azusa Nakano. After Azusa joins, they gain more structure and begin to practice more.
