It's Music Monday again and I'm in a 90's mood today so I will share my favorite 90's group who is known for releasing choreographed singles. They are the "Steps".
I started to appreciate music of the late 90s. This is when Music is still innocent and alive. No explicit and daring dance moves! Steps is known for their dance songs and most of their hits are cover versions. They are considered as the Modern ABBA.
Remember H, Lisa, Lee, Claire and Faye?
Well, since it's quite hard to pick one, i decided to make my Music Monday the top five way again. Listed below are my personal favorites and done subjectively.
Are you ready? 5. 6, 7, 8!
TOP FIVE GREATEST HITS FROM STEPS
TOP 5 GREATEST HIT FROM STEPS
"DEEPER SHADE OF BLUE"
This is one of their last singles before the group disbanded. The group is known for choreographed videos and this is one of my favorites. The music video has a futuristic style, with the group wearing blue Latex uniforms for the dance sequences and each transforming into a darker alter-ego during the video.I love the message of the song too! We all have dark sides right?
TOP 4 GREATEST HIT FROM STEPS
"TRAGEDY"
Okay... everyone... let's do it together... let's put both hands parallel to the sides of our head haha.. That is the trade mark of this song. Steps made the song more groovy and they made it sound more current. It is an original Bee Gees song. I preferred this version than the original haha.
TOP 3 GREATEST HIT FROM STEPS
"CHAIN REACTION"
Unlike Tragedy, i still prefer the version of Diana Ross. I'm a big fan of Diana actually and because they cover a Diana Song, i will put them, biasly here in the third spot. LOL.
But Steps did great with their version of Chain reaction. Almost sound as the original but with synchronized parts. Oh they performed the song with Cliff Richards too. very interesting.
TOP 2 GREATEST HIT FROM STEPS
"5, 6, 7, 8"
I can never forget the first dance i have ever memorized LOL... I still know the steps... want me to teach you LOL. I remember we are required to perform something for our group in school and my leader chose this song.. so we had no choice but to dance the silly aerobic-like moves... anyway, it's not that silly during that time haha In fact, everyone is crazy about it.
This is their first hit.
THE GREATEST HIT FROM STEPS
"LAST THING ON MY MIND"
An original Bananarama song. Actually, i know nothing about Bananarama that time so i thought this is their original piece. Anyway, when they sing the chorus on this vid, each member is singing a scene is similar to ABBA's Mamma Mia. By the way, is it just me? I find Faye looks like Christina Aguilera?
Yay! hope you enjoyed my MM entry for this week... please lemme know if the videos are working or not so that i can replace them immediately.
