How We Celebrate Special Occasions

Wow time really run out so fast and I just can't imagine that we're already on the second quarter of August. We only have few weeks left before the so called "ber" months and it seems that it was just yesterday when Milzon and I were both preparing for his first school day and now, we're all excited for the upcoming holiday. There's going to be a lot of celebration when the ber months arrive, Milzon will celebrate his 8th birthday next month while Mirasol will turn 16 on the 13th of November. December is more like a triple celebration because two days after Christmas, I'm going to celebrate my 23rd 18th birthday, and then 4 days after that, we're about to welcome the end of the world (the 2012 LOL).
I don't have any idea how you guys celebrate special occasions in your country but here in the Philippines, we used to celebrate it luxuriously! Yeah! Families, whether from poor or rich class, will try all their best, exert all their efforts just to make the occasion extra special even if it means that they have to sacrifice their limited budget or they have to borrow money from their relatives or apply for a cash advance loan just to cover the entire expenses. I might go for a fast cash too if I ran out of budget.
Birthdays, Christmas, New Year, they all come once a year, so why not make it special and remarkable right? Something that you'll remember and a moment that you can share with your kids in the near future (if ever the 2012 prophecy is not true muwahaha)
Have a great day guys and happy blogging to all

yay!! finally i got the FC first time for the month, haha~~ :D
oh, so what is the "ber" month actually?? is it some kind of special occasion in Philippines??
oh, your birthdays are quite close to each other yeah?? no wonder you will be so busy towards the end of the year.. :)
over here, we just celebrate according to our budget, we will never take loan for celebrations.. because it's the thought but not the scale of the celebration that counts right??
more importantly it's everyone to gather and feel the celebration, whether how grand or how simple that would not be the main issue.. that's why i say we celebrate accordingly to our capacity.. :)
have a great weekend and happy blogging milton.. :)

Have a great day BD, doing a little bloghopping today! :p
Your birthday coming soon! Let me wish you a Happy Birthday in advance......
Over here, the Chinese will probably celebrate their birthdays twice by following the Western and Chinese calendars. I only celebrate mine following the Western calendar.
It is too costly to celebrate twice unless my friends throw me a birthday bash twice. I will be happiest man!
These days the birthday trend here is going to Karaokes to sing their hearts out. There they can have buffet food and spend many hours together in the singing cubicles!
Now I understand why Filipinos celebrate in large scales. I have a Facebook 'god brother' who was Phillipine's most famous model in the 80s and live in US now. I was surprised to see all the birthday photos he attended were so big and crowded like a wedding!! I had no idea then until you posted this...
Thanks for sharing this information. I often watched documentary about your country and my eyes often popped out in surprise. Example - the cemeteries of the wealthy people in manila, Imelda Marcos' shoes, The victims who were exorcised, the followers who whipped themselves till bloody during religious festivals and many others!
I would be happy if you could blog and explain more details about what I have just mentioned. I am sure other readers would find them interesting!
Long ago, our local tours often organized tours to your country and it was very popular. They would visit the Casinos, Pangsajan Falls, Makati in Manila, Cebu City and many more. Now there is no more tours at all after some incidents many years ago which I do not remember. Now that Air Asia is plying KL and Clark airport near Manila, I am sure more Malaysians would love to visit.
If you can share some simple tips about Manila and where & what we should do upon arrival, it would be an eye opener to everyone who reads your popular post now.
Example - Hotel, attractions, food and cheap shopping areas plus all the prices.
