National Disaster Consciousness Month

July is "National Disaster Consciousness Month" that aims to provide public awareness on what to do or how to lessen the risks brought by these naturally occurring disasters and increasing incidents of emergencies. It is a month long observation that teaches the importance of disaster prevention, mitigation and preparedness.
Several events and activities will be held including series of parades and motorcade. Emergency drills will be conducted as well in most public schools and government establishments. As a matter of fact, my former school had their dry run activities yesterday to promote the "National Disaster Consciousness Month"

"Ligtas Na Bayan, Maunlad na Pamayanan" (Safe Town, Prosperous Community) is the event's theme this year. The event is supported by the City government and they even lend their Firetruck for this special Dry run activity.
Here are students performing their emergency drills. It is very important for these kids to pay more attention to this activity and they really have to take this seriously especially on what happened last week. There was a fire accident in San Sebastian College , a week before this activity. No one was hurt but the building was completely ruined.
San Sebastian College on Fire.
Accidents may occur on your most unexpected time and place so we really have to be aware and alert. It is very important that we have Safe Site Facilities to ensure our safety. All establishments should follow the safety rules. They should have an emergency exit and fire extinguishers located at random places. It is very important as well that they hire professionals or security specialist to observe the safety of their facilities. An abandoned place may also not be as safe as what we think it is. There might be some harmful elements that will bring hazard to many. That's why it is very ideal to leave this job to the experts to provide the best of their service and remove those harmful elements and lessen the risk of danger.
Keep in mind guys that SAFETY should always be our top most priority that anything else.
Have a great day and Happy Blogging!

"YUSUKE URAMESHI"

Yusuke is the main character from anime series "YuYu Hakusho". He is known to be a stereotypical bad seed; having a spotty attendance record, doing poorly in class, and picking fights with many other students. He also smokes cigarettes and drinks alcohol in the manga. He dies after saving a small child from being struck by a car, which is something the guardians of the afterlife did not predict. He is then forced to become a Spirit Detective who protects the human race from demons. He deeply cares for his childhood friend Keiko and tries not to get her involved with the spirit world. His character name was "Eugene" when the series was aired in the Philippines. Yusuke was ranked as the thirteenth most popular anime character in 1993, the tenth in 1994, and the eighth in 1995.

TOP 4 MOST POPULAR MALE ANIME CHARACTER
"ICHIGO KUROSAKI"

Ichigo is a fictional character in the anime and manga franchise Bleach by Tite Kubo. The main character of the series, Ichigo receives Soul Reaper powers as a result of a run-in with Rukia Kuchiki, the Soul Reaper assigned to patrol his city, Karakura Town. These powers come at the cost of Rukia's own, and as a result, Ichigo concedes to work as Rukia's stand-in, fighting to protect people from evil spirits called hollows and sending good spirits, wholes, to Soul Society. Merchandise based on Ichigo's likeness has also been released, including toys, clothing, and action figures. Ichigo's character has been well received among both fans and reviewers, and people all over the world. Ichigo is also featured in Weekly Shōnen Jump character popularity polls, consistently ranking as one of the most popular characters in Bleach, while the 2007 Japanese Newtype magazine polls ranked him as one of the top 100 most-loved anime characters. In addition to the main series, Ichigo appears in many other pieces of Bleach media, including the four featured films in the series, the two original video animations, and several video games. Reviewers of the series have also remarked favorably on his personality, though some consider him to be a stereotypical anti-hero.

TOP 3 MOST POPULAR MALE ANIME CHARACTER
"MONKEY D LUFFY"

Monkey D. Luffy, or "Straw Hat Luffy" as he is often referred to as, is a fictional character and the main protagonist in the anime and manga series One Piece created by Eiichiro Oda. He is the pirate whose body is made of rubber after he ate a devil's fruit and acquired the accursed ability.

In the anime and manga, Luffy is captain of the Straw Hat Pirates, a group of pirates he assembles himself as he quests to find the "One Piece" and become the King of the Pirates. His primary motivation throughout the series is to reach the goal with all of his comrades, a task he pursues no matter what stands in his way. While he is goofy and reckless, he gets quite serious when anyone is in serious danger, notably his crew, whom he considers his friends. Luffy has additionally appeared in all of the featured movies in the series and other media relating to the series, including several video games and specials.

TOP 2 MOST POPULAR MALE ANIME CHARACTER
"NARUTO UZUMAKI"

Naruto Uzumaki is a fictional character in the anime and manga franchise Naruto created by Masashi Kishimoto. Naruto is the main protagonist and titular character of the series. In creating Naruto, Kishimoto wished to keep the character "simple and stupid" while giving him many attributes of Son Goku, the main character from the Dragon Ball franchise. However, Kishimoto also added his dark past to make him look unique. Naruto's initial design has been changed several times by Kishimoto giving him different clothes to make him more appealing to Western audience as well as to be easier to draw.
Several anime and manga publications have expressed acclaim and criticism of Naruto's character. Some view him as a stereotypical manga and anime protagonist comparable to those in many other shōnen manga, while others have praised his personality as well as his development in the series. Nevertheless, Naruto has remained highly popular with the Naruto reader base, placing high in several popularity polls. Merchandise based on Naruto has also been released, including figurines and plush dolls.

THE MOST POPULAR MALE ANIME CHARACTER
"SON GOKU"

Son Goku is a fictional character and the main protagonist of the Dragon Ball universe created by Akira Toriyama. He first appears in the first chapter Bulma and Son Goku first published in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine on December 3, 1984. He is loosely based on Sun Wukong, a central character in Journey to the West, however, Toriyama changed some of his characteristics to be more original. Goku is introduced as an odd, monkey-tailed boy who practices martial arts and possesses superhuman strength. As the story unfolds, he is actually revealed to be from a fictional race of extraterrestrials called Saiyans, said to be the strongest warriors within the fictional universe. Goku also made cameo appearances in Toriyama's self-parody series Neko Majin Z and also starred in all the films, specials and video games from the series.

Anime News Network noted Goku to be a good part of the comedy of the series and remarked that after all events that happen to him he is still the same naive character. THEM Anime Reviews noted him to be Goku is not the omnipowerful one in the first series unlike Dragon Ball Z, nor does he randomly disappear for long stretches of time between sagas. They also liked how the series tell all his adventures making him a good main character. Rationalmagic.com praised Goku's innocence as one of the funniest parts of the series. His journey and ever growing strength resulted in the character winning "the admiration of young boys everywhere". n a survey conducted by Oricon in 2007 between 1,000 people, Goku ranked first place as the "Strongest Manga character of all time." Masako Nozawa, the Japanese voice actor of Goku, has commented she liked when he lost his tail because that made him more normal but liked that the character was still the same in the end of the series. Jackie Chan has gone on record stating that Goku is his favorite Dragon Ball character.

The characters from these cartoons listed below are meant to be scary and spooky that will creep your kids out,but then since they are Cartoons and Cartoons are meant for Kids, they turned out to be funny, less creepy and friendly. This is a repost from my November 2008 entry. have fun.
TOP FIVE MOST SPOOKY FRIENDLY CARTOONS

TOP 5 MOST SPOOKY FRIENDLY CARTOON

"THE GRIM ADVENTURES OF BILLY AND MANDY"
The Grim Adventure of Billy and Mandy or often referred as "Billy and Mandy" is an animated television series that aired on Cartoon Network. The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy follow two children: Billy & Mandy who after winning a game to save Billy's pet, gain The Grim Reaper as their best friend forever. The Grim Reaper is a Reaper with a skeleton body who holds a scythe and wears a black outfit with a hood. Though Billy is friendly towards him, Mandy treats him dominantly, and this angers and irritates him to the point where he constantly fantasizes about killing both of them. However, there have been instances that show that he does care for them while also finding them both obnoxious.

TOP 4 MOST SPOOKY FRIENDLY CARTOON

"GHOSTBUSTERS"
Ghostbusters is an animated television series created by Filmation. The cartoon was based on a live-action television show from 1975 titled The Ghost Busters. It is not to be confused with the animated show The Real Ghostbusters, which was based on the 1984 film Ghostbusters. The original concept is about three eccentric New York City parapsychologists-turned-ghost exterminators who start a ghost catching business. Slimer! And the Real Ghostbusters, on the other hand, is an animated series based on the successful 1984 film. The series features Slimer, also known as "the spud," who was a ghost made up of pure Ectoplasm and the first ghost successfully captured by the Ghostbusters. Slimer is well known for his gigantic appetite and the slime he leaves behind when he passes through solid objects. In 1997, Extreme Ghostbusters was created as a follow-up to the animated series to the series. It features a team of younger university-level Ghostbusters who are led by veteran Ghostbuster Egon Spengler.

TOP 3 MOST SPOOKY FRIENDLY CARTOON

"THE ADDAMS FAMILY"
The Addams Family is an American television series based on the characters in Charles Addams' New Yorker cartoons. The 30-minute series was shot in black-and-white and aired for two seasons on ABC from September 18, 1964, to April 8, 1966, totalling 64 episodes. The Addamses are a satirical inversion of the ideal American family; an eccentric, wealthy family who delight in the macabre and are unaware that people find them bizarre or frightening. There was an animated series produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions on 1973 and another one on 1992 , which was the second-to-last Hanna-Barbera-produced show to premiere on ABC. New artistic models of the characters were used for this series, though still having a passing resemblance to the original comics. The show's theme song, which was similar to that of the original live-action series, was slightly different and was sung by a single baritone voice.

TOP 2 MOST SPOOKY FRIENDLY CARTOON

"SCOOBY-DOO"
Scooby-Doo is an American cartoon series based around several animated television series and related works produced from 1969 to the present day. The original series, Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! is the first (and flagship) incarnation of the long-running Hanna-Barbera Saturday morning cartoon series. The series featured four teenagers—Fred Jones, Daphne Blake, Velma Dinkley, and Norville "Shaggy" Rogers— and their talking Great Dane dog named "Scooby-Doo" who solve mysteries involving supposedly supernatural creatures through a series of antics and missteps. Scooby-Doo Where Are You! was followed by numerous animated spin offs including "A pup Named Scooby-Doo" (1988), "What's New! Scooby-Doo" (2002), Shaggy & Scooby-Doo Get a Clue! (2006), and the current one which is the Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated.

THE MOST SPOOKY FRIENDLY CARTOON

"CASPER THE FRIENDLY GHOST"
I think nobody is as friendliest as our dear Casper right? As his name indicates, he is a ghost, but is quite personable. According to the 1995 feature film Casper, his family name is McFadden, making his "full" name Casper McFadden.Given that Casper is depicted as a ghostly little boy, there is a controversy among fans of the series about whether or not he is a dead child. Early Casper cartoons seemed to suggest this, as they portrayed him "living" beside a gravestone. Casper was created in the late 1930s. Casper is a cute ghost-child with a New York accent, who inhabits a haunted house along with a community of adult ghosts who delight in scaring the living. Casper, however, is a noncomformist among ghosts: he would prefer to make friends with people. Numerous versions of casper were released and several films were made as well.

Here are some cartoons who failed to make it on our list but deserving enough to be mentioned: Groovie Goolies , Sabrina The Teenage Witch, Beetlejuice (1989), and Monster High
*************
After a refreshing dessert at Chowking, it seems that my tummy was not satisfied yet. I was aiming for a bigger and heavier meal and who cares about the diet huh! haha. I decided to have my lunch at Mang Inasal which is just few blocks away from Chowking. As you can see, Mang Inasal is located in a building . It is located on the second floor specifically.

TOP FIVE WORLD'S MOST POPULAR GHOST TOWNS

Are you guys interested with Ghost tows and to discover the history behind them? When you ghost town, it doesn't literally means that there are ghosts residing in this place, ghost towns are abandoned villages, towns or cities. A town often becomes a ghost town because the economic activity that supported it has failed, or due to natural or human-caused disasters such as floods, government actions, uncontrolled lawlessness, war, or nuclear disasters. Today, most ghost towns served as main tourist attractions.
Listed below are five of the most popular ghost towns in the world. Have fun!

TOP FIVE WORLD'S MOST POPULAR GHOST TOWNS

TOP 5 WORLD'S MOST POPULAR GHOST TOWN
"KAYAKOY , TURKEY"

The ghost town, now preserved as a museum village, consists of hundreds of rundown but still mostly intact Greek-style houses and churches which cover a small mountainside and serve as a stopping place for tourists visiting Fethiye and nearby Ölüdeniz. It was built on the site of the ancient city of Carmylessus in the 18th century. It experienced a renewal after nearby Fethiye (known as Makri) was devastated by an earthquake in 1856 and a major fire in 1885. After the Greco-Turkish War, Kayaköy was largely abandoned after a population exchange agreement was signed by the Turkish and Greek governments in 1923. Many of the buildings were damaged in the 1957 Fethiye earthquake. Today Kayaköy village serves as a museum and is a historical monument. Around 500 houses remain as ruins and are under the protection of the Turkish government, including two Greek Orthodox Churches, which remain the most important sights of the ghost town.

TOP 4 WORLD'S MOST POPULAR GHOST TOWN
"CENTRALIA , PENNSYLVANIA"

Centralia is a borough and ghost town in Columbia County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is more like a real version of Silent Hill in terms of the vicinity and in fact, the game itself was inspired by Centralia. Its population has dwindled from over 1,000 residents in 1981 to 12 in 2005, 9 in 2007, and 10 in 2010, as a result of a mine fire burning beneath the borough since 1962. Very few homes remain standing in Centralia; most of the abandoned buildings have been demolished by the Columbia County Redevelopment Authority or nature. At a casual glance, the area now appears to be a field with many paved streets running through it. The town's four cemeteries—including one on the hilltop that has smoke rising around and out of it—are maintained in good condition. The underground fire is still burning and may continue to do so for 250 more years.

TOP 3 WORLD'S MOST POPULAR GHOST TOWN
"BODIE , CALIFORNIA"

Bodie is a ghost town in the Bodie Hills east of the Sierra Nevada mountain range in Mono County, California, United States. The ghost town has been administered by California State Parks since becoming a state historic park in 1962, and receives about 200,000 visitors yearly. Actually, the town reminds me of the film "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre". Bodie began as a mining camp of little note following the discovery of gold in 1859 by a group of prospectors. In 1876, the Standard Company discovered a profitable deposit of gold-bearing ore, which transformed Bodie from an isolated mining camp comprising a few prospectors and company employees to a Wild West boomtown. The first signs of decline appeared in 1880 and became obvious towards the end of the year. Promising mining booms in Butte, Montana; Tombstone, Arizona; and Utah lured men away from Bodie. The first signs of an official decline occurred in 1912 with the printing of the last Bodie newspaper, The Bodie Miner. n 1917, the Bodie Railway was abandoned and its iron tracks were scrapped. The last mine closed in 1942, due to War Production Board order L-208, shutting down all nonessential gold mines in the United States. The first label of Bodie as a "ghost town" was in 1915.

TOP 2 WORLD'S MOST POPULAR GHOST TOWN
"GUNKANJIMA, JAPAN"

Also known as Hashima Island. Gunkanjima is one among 505 uninhabited islands in the Nagasaki Prefecture about 15 kilometers from Nagasaki itself. The island was populated from 1887 to 1974 as a coal mining facility. The island's most notable features are the abandoned concrete buildings and the sea wall surrounding it. It is known for its coal mines and their operation during the industrialization of Japan. Mitsubishi bought the island in 1890 and began the project, the aim of which was retrieving coal from undersea mines. As petroleum replaced coal in Japan in the 1960s, coal mines began shutting down all over the country, and Hashima's mines were no exception. Mitsubishi officially announced the closing of the mine in 1974, and today it is empty and bare, which is why it is called Ghost Island.

THE WORLD'S MOST POPULAR GHOST TOWN
"PRIPYAT, UKRAINE"

Pripyat is a ghost town near the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, within the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone. Pripyat was founded in 1970 to house workers for the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. It was officially proclaimed a city in 1979 but was abandoned in 1986 following the Chernobyl disaster.Access to Pripyat, unlike cities of military importance, was not restricted before the disaster as nuclear power stations were seen by the Soviet Union as safer than other types of power plants. Nuclear power stations were presented as being an achievement of Soviet engineering, where nuclear power was harnessed for peaceful projects. After the disaster the city of Pripyat was evacuated in two days. Many of the building interiors in Pripyat have been vandalised and ransacked over the years. Because the buildings have not been maintained since 1986, the roofs leak, and in the springtime the rooms are flooded with water. Trees can be seen growing on roofs and even inside the buildings. One notable landmark often featured in photographs of the city, video games (such as Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series) and visible from aerial-imaging websites such as Google Maps, is the long-abandoned ferris wheel located in the Pripyat amusement park.

LinkAfter exploring the Baclaran Church, I decided to have my lunch before moving back to Cavite. Baclaran Church is seated near the Baclaran public market. There are several “carinderias” or local eateries and series of fast food chains everywhere. Though the market is just too crowded for me to enjoy my meal in a local eatery so I decided to try a fast food chain instead.

Energizer and Nuffnang power my life through meeting my expectations and by making me as one of their highly satisfied customers. This kind of service is what makes my lifestyle more fun and exciting at the same time.

I've been a proud member Nuffnang Community since 2009 and they never failed to amuse me with their wonderful and interesting Blogger events. They got this unique approach about Blog Advertising and they made it in more fun and exciting way.
Energizer, on the other hand, has been a part of my daily life since I was a kid. I used to have them for my toys, battery-operated appliances and for almost all my gadgets including my DigiCam and Mp3. It never failed to provide an impressive and long lasting performance that no other batteries can offer.
As a matter of fact, I got a pair of Energizer® AA Rechargeable battery and it has been with me for more than 3 years. It comes up with this charger too.

Energizer last up to 4 times longer and is ideal enough for my portable gadgets. Unlike before , I had to replace my batteries almost every after usage.
It is rechargeable indeed but the duration every after charge is truly impressive which is good enough reason for me to say that Energizer has the guts to be named as the Makers of the World’s Longest Lasting Batteries because I can prove it myself.
For a blogger like me, it is necessary to have these long lasting batteries for my gadgets (my Digital Camera in particular) which serves as one of my main tools for blogging.

TOP FIVE MOST EXPENSIVE CLASSIC CARS

This is a repost of my April 2008 entry. I did some revision though. Classic cars are like the gold coins or antique materials, the older the model, the higher the value it gets. History behind this cars is most likely the reason why serious collectors get excited enough about a classic car and for them to pay huge amounts for it. Listed below are five of the most expensive classic cars in the world
TOP FIVE MOST EXPENSIVE CLASSIC CARS

TOP 5 MOST EXPENSIVE CLASSIC CAR
"1932 ALPHA ROMEO TIPO B"

($5.6 MILLION)

Unofficially known as the P3 or Monoposto, the Alfa Romeo Tipo B was conceived for the 1932 GP Formula 1 season and it became the first single-seater vehicle on the tour. The supercharged 2.6-liter engine had eight cylinders. One of the engine's chief assets was the low-speed torque.

The 1932 season was basically dominated by the Alfa Romeo, winning five major races. Only six of those cars were ever built and in 1933 they were entrusted to Ferrari, which then handled the racing part. A rare 1932 Alfa Romeo Tipo B was recently purchased for the affordable price of $5.6 million. The most expensive ride ever sold.

TOP 4 MOST EXPENSIVE CLASSIC CAR
"1962 FERRARI 330 TRI/LM"

($6.5 MILLION)

In the late 1950s, Ferrari dominated international racing events with its Testarossa series of front-engined sports cars. In 1962, new rules were applied for LeMans, which forced manufacturers to use four-cylinder engines. The 330 TRI/LM became the most powerful Testarossa and also the last.

Model 0808 won the 1962 LeMans event before being sold by Ferrari to another team. After one race in which it was damaged, it was sold to Hisashi Okada, who drove the car in New York City for a decade. Following complete restoration and a stint in a French collection, it resurfaced in an August 2002 auction and was sold for $6.5 million.

TOP 3 MOST EXPENSIVE CLASSIC CAR
"1931 TYPE 41 BUGATTI ROYALE"

($8.7 MILLION)
Whereas other manufacturers were interested in performance, Bugatti was all about luxury. Using the finest woods, metals and leathers, it was made to impress and provided comfort for the very rich. A massive car with its 14-foot long chassis, this model weighs 3.5 tons.

Back in a time when cars could be purchased for a few hundred dollars, the Bugatti Royale cost $42,000 and only six were ever built. In 1987, four thousand people gathered at Christie's in London and witnessed this 1931 Type 41 Bugatti Royale being auctioned off. It went for $8.7 million.

TOP 2 MOST EXPENSIVE CLASSIC CAR
"1962 FERRARI 250 GTO"

($16.6 MILLION)
The beauty of the 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO is that it's a combination of road and racecar. The shape favors aerodynamics while boasting a sexiness that is welcome on the streets. But it's definitely a racecar first and foremost, and requires constant attention, funds and repairs. The engine, which can produce up to 300 horsepower, established Ferrari as the racing champion of the world.

The interior of the 250 GTO is plain; there isn't even carpeting. But with only 40 models made, it's one of the most rare Ferraris in the world. A British garage held on to the one it had acquired cheaply in the '70s and sold it to a Japanese businessman in 1990 for $16.6 million.

THE MOST EXPENSIVE CLASSIC CAR
"1954 MERCEDES W 196"

($24 MILLION)
The holy grail of racing cars, it was introduced at the 1954 French Grand Prix at Reims, and went on to dominate Formula 1 racing for both the 1954 and 1955 seasons. What made the automobile so special was its revolutionary valve system, which utilized positive control without having to resort to springs.

This car was raced by legendary drivers Juan Manuel Fangio and Stirling Moss before ending up in a museum in the 1980s. The car was sold for a couple of millions to finance renovations at the museum, and sold again in 1990 to a French industrialist for $24 million. A German businessman is currently the owner; he reportedly paid less then half the amount in the late '90s.

TOP FIVE MOST POPULAR GIRL GROUPS OF ALL TIME

Here comes our first Top Five List for June. But before we proceed, I just want to inform you that I'm going to make series of Repost starting this month. I'm trying to sort out my Top Five List and divide them into separate categories. This is an ideal way too to refresh my previous entries for the past four years. Though, I also prepared some new entries for this month too.

A girl Group as what the term suggests, is a popular music act featuring several young female singers who generally harmonise together. Girl groups emerged in the late 1950s as groups of young singers teamed up with behind-the-scenes songwriters and music producers to create hit singles, often featuring glossy production values and backing by top studio musicians. In later eras the girl group template would be applied to disco, contemporary R&B, and country-based formats as well as pop. Listed below are five of the most popular girl group in the music history.

TOP FIVE MOST POPULAR GIRL GROUPS OF ALL TIME

TOP 5 MOST POPULAR GIRL GROUP OF ALL TIME

Okay! Girls Generation or SNSD , is a nine-member South Korean pop girl group formed by S.M. Entertainment in 2007. The leader of the group is Kim Taeyeon. The other members are Jessica Jung, Sunny, Tiffany, Kim Hyoyeon, Kwon Yuri, Choi Sooyoung, Im Yoona and Seohyun.

THE MOST POPULAR GIRL GROUP OF ALL TIME
"THE SUPREMES"

The Supremes was an American female singing group and the premier act of Motown Records during the 1960s. Originally founded as The Primettes in Detroit, Michigan, in 1959, The Supremes' repertoire included doo-wop, pop, soul, Broadway show tunes, psychedelic soul, and disco. They were the most commercially successful of Motown's acts and are, to date, America's most successful vocal group with 12 number one singles on the Billboard Hot 100. The Supremes rivaled The Beatles in worldwide popularity, and their success made it possible for future African American R&B and soul musicians to find mainstream success. Founding members Florence Ballard, Mary Wilson, Diana Ross, and Betty McGlown. During the mid-1960s, The Supremes achieved mainstream success with Ross as lead singer. In 1967, Motown president Berry Gordy renamed the group Diana Ross & the Supremes, and replaced Ballard with Cindy Birdsong. Ross left to pursue a solo career in 1970 and was replaced by Jean Terrell, at which point the group's name reverted to The Supremes. After 1972, the lineup changed more frequently; Lynda Laurence, Scherrie Payne, and Susaye Greene all became members of the group during the mid-1970s. The Supremes disbanded in 1977 after an 18-year run.
