INTERESTING BLOG OF THE MONTH APRIL 2008

OLD TIME GREATEST STARS
by allison

Photobucket

*****THE INTERVIEW*****

Photobucketwill you kindly share to us whats your blog all about?

***********************

SONDAN

Photobucket
I love oldies music and listen to it all the time. I have a minimal
hour commute to and from work daily so
music soothes my soul during that "defensive driving" time. The music
from the late fifties through the early seventies is what I grew up on
and is, by far, my favorite.

ALLISON
Photobucket
My blog is about all old time stars that ever graced the silverscreen, some of these include stars like "Judy Garland" "Frank Sinatra" and many more.

Photobucketi know how impressive your concept in your blog was .how this started anyway?

*******************************

PhotobucketMy work life wasn't going as planned and frankly I was quite

depressed about it. I guess I was having the proverbial mid-life career crisis
 when I got downsized.
Music was my source of solace: it makes me feel good and brings back
memories of happier times. I put that together with my new blogging hobby
that I was using to self-medicate my depression and "Old School Music
 Lover" was born.

PhotobucketThis came about when I abit younger & started watching some of these old films,I then decided when I got my computer to do a blog on Doris Day, but then deciced this wasn't enough just concentrating on one star so I thought I would do this blog & have a wider choice on all the great old icons out there.

Photobucketi know that all of your posts was great .do you consider one of them
as your most favorite or the most classical?
************************

PhotobucketNo I can't pick any single favorites. My love of the music is very
eclectic in terms of genre as I think you can tell from the songs I have
selected over the course of the past eight months

Photobucket
Doris Day is most deffinetly my most favourite classic icon, although she is not on this blog I have another blog just on her.

Photobucketwhat was your target reader?

*********************

PhotobucketAnyone and everyone. I particular thought that perhaps the "Boomers"
would like to share their thoughts on this great music and perhaps
turn me onto some music I wasn't familiar with of the era. And more
importantly, I felt that Generation X needed to hear what REAL MUSIC was all
about since the majority of the new popular stuff sucks IMHO.

Photobucketwhat was the word "classic" for you? is everything
old are considerable classic
*********************

Photobucket
I would consider classic as a perfect and/or early example of a particular style,or an artistic work of lasting worth.

Photobucketwe are now in the modern era¦.and its almost predominated by modern
styles and fashion¦ and mostly all those classic things are
forgotten by the modern generation¦ what can you say about this?
PhotobucketHow interesting that you should ask that BlueD. I have a second blog in
which I address this issue. I started a companion blog to OSML
entitled "Everything Old Is New Again". That is where I specifically discuss
some of the great classics/oldies from the 20th Century, that are being
recorded again in the 21st Century. When music is good - good artists
will find it and realize it's greatness. Stop by and check it out at
 http://everythingoldisnew.wordpress.com.

PhotobucketApart from the nostalgia of looking backwards So many movies these days are technically brilliant but ultimately quite hollow - I think its down to massively movie literate but life-ignorant film makers continually referencing old movies, consciously or unconsciously.Their interpretations of characters and situations are from their knowledge of movies (or other forms of art),not from life itself. One thing so many of the great old film makers had was experience of life. Many became film makers relatively late in life some came from the arts, others had very tough lives before starting to make films

************************************

Thank you so much sondan and allison for giving me a chance to interview you and permitting me to introduce your blogs in my INTERESTING BLOG OF THE MONTH APRIL 2008

its an honor to have both of you

"oldies are not bad afterall....they are fantastic....sometimes it is wonderful to turn back those times....and we must remember that those music and movies of the present time willl never be that good without its foundation...without its inspiration and without the pioneers from the past era or generation."

and as amatter of appreciation ...sondan and allison please do take this "excellent site award" from the bottom of my heart

TOP 4 MOST POPULAR SUPER SENTAI

"Hikari Sentai Maskman" or MASK MAN

Photobucket

Hikari Sentai Maskman translated into English literally as Light Squadron Maskman, (in the Philippine Tagalog dub, Laser Squadron Maskman) was Toei's eleventh entry of the Super Sentai Series. It aired on TV Asahi from February 28, 1987 to February 20, 1988, with a total of 51 episodes.

Plot
"There is an unknown power hidden inside the human body. If you train as hard as you can, the power revealed will be unlimited!"
Everything starts with Commander Sugata, a scientist and sage who excels in mental reinforcements and is a master of every martial art. He discovered the existence of the Royal Underground Empire Tube, a malignant force that desires to dominate the land, located underground Japan. In the beginning, the Tube was centered to pacifism. However, when Zeba assumed the throne, they began planning to conquer the world. Their goal was to turn the world into a cold and shady planet, suitable for their living conditions. In order to stand against them and thwart their plans, Sugata recruited five young people, each one specialized in a style of martial arts, and taught them in the ways of the mystical aura power energy.
A year passes from the time he has recruited them. It is early spring and Tube is ready to strike. The Tube's Princess Ial, sent to spy above ground as Mio, has fallen in love with Takeru, wishing for a more peaceful approach for those underground and those above ground to coexist. She is kidnapped and imprisoned in ice for her betrayal.

TOP 3 MOST POPULAR SUPER SENTAI

"Choujin Sentai Jetman" OR JETMAN

Photobucket

Choujin Sentai Jetman translated into English as Birdman Squadron Jetman, was the fifteenth entry of the Super Sentai television series. Produced by Toei Company and Bandai, the series aired on TV Asahi on February 15, 1991 to February 21, 1992, with a total of 51 episodes. With its well-developed storylines and character development, it is regarded by many fans to be the best series of the Super Sentai genre, and by some to be the pinnacle of the Tokusatsu genre. This sentai is a homage to Science Ninja Team Gatchaman. Unlike the previous series, Jetman has a darker and more serious story. It also has a tragic ending despite the fact that the heroes win the final battle.

Plot
This series takes place sometime during the 1990s (only addressed as "199X" ) on the Earth Ship, the command center of an international defence agency called Sky Force. It is the guardian of peace on Earth. In the ship, scientists have developed "Birdonic Waves", a newly developed technology which gives the subject superhuman abilities. Experiments (called "J-Project") were successful. Aya Odagiri, the director of the project, chose five elite Sky Force officials from Earth to use this technology. Ryuu Tendou, one of the Sky Force officers, was successfully exposed to the Birdonic waves, making him Jetman Number 1, the Red Hawk.
However, the Earth Ship is suddenly attacked by Vyram, an evil space organization. They successfully destroy the ship, and the remaining Birdonic waves (for the four other officials) become scattered on Earth. Four civilians pick them up. Odagiri and Tendou successfully escape the ship and begin searching on earth for the four remaining Jetman waves in order to stop Vyram's plans of conquering our dimension.

TOP 2 MOST POPULAR SUPER SENTAI

"Choudenshi Bioman" OR BIO MAN

Photobucket

Choudenshi Bioman translated into English as Super Electron Bioman, is Toei Company's eighth installment in the Super Sentai series. It was aired on TV Asahi from February 4, 1984 to January 26, 1985, with a total of 51 episodes.

Plot
Many centuries ago, the android Peebo and the Bio Robo came to Earth from the fallen Bio Star. The Bio Robo showered five people with the Bio Particles, which would be passed on to later generations. In the present day, Doctor Man and his Shin Teikoku (New Empire) Gear threaten the world. Peebo must find the descendants of the original five descendants to form the Choudenshi (Super Electronic Squadron) Bioman.

THE MOST POPULAR SUPER SENTAI

"THE POWER RANGERS"

Power Rangers

Power Rangers is a long-running American children's television series adapted from the Japanese tokusatsu Super Sentai Series, though it is not simply an English dub of the original. Rather, it is a 'new' production with English-speaking actors spliced in with the original Japanese footage in varying ratios. Due to the very Japanese nature of many of the Super Sentai Series' stories and design, the American shows are altered to fit a Western audience. However, many of the action sequences featuring the characters in costume and the mecha (referred to as "Zords" in the English series) are typically dubbed

The Power Rangers
A Power Ranger is a fictional individual who "Morphs" from an unpowered form into a powerful superhero usually wearing a brightly colored battle suit usually made of spandex featuring a helmet with an opaque visor.[3] In many cases, the helmet serves to protect his or her secret identity. (In some cases, more powerful Rangers may have extra shielding on their suit to protect them from strong blows.)
A morphed Ranger generally possesses superhuman strength, durability, and hand-to-hand combat ability; unmorphed Rangers may possess other innate abilities such as telekinesis,[4] super speed,[5] invisibility[6] that are usually not directly related to his or her Ranger powers.
Rangers appear to retain their original physiology beneath their suits when in morphed form, as Rangers' helmets have been seen removed or broken on numerous occasions[7], revealing his or her natural form underneath.[8] Helmets aside, the suits are donned and removed nearly instantaneously with a glow of light or some other effect. Sometimes, Rangers "de-morph" involuntarily due to powerful physical attacks.
Rangers regularly operate in teams of five, with a special sixth Ranger frequently joining the team part way into the series;[9] More recently a core team of three will later be joined by additional Rangers. Each Ranger's suit and energy spectrum will match a specific color, with red, yellow, and blue being joined by some combination of pink, green, black, or white. Rangers may be named after their respective colors, such as Red Ranger, Blue Ranger, etc., but numbers or other names may also be used. There is usually no more than one Ranger of a given color on a team, but exceptions of this rule are generally given alternate names (in Time Force, there were two Rangers with red-colored costumes; the first was the Red Time Force Ranger, the second was the Quantum Ranger). Each team's costumes are nearly identical aside from color, helmet design (most notably the shape of the opaque visor) and perhaps a numerical designation. Any additional Rangers will regularly have additional costume modifications, usually some form of additional armor.
The Rangers' color designation also influences their wardrobe throughout the series, as their civilian clothing is often the same color as their Ranger color. This correlation was joked about in Dino Thunder when Tommy Oliver (a former Green Ranger, White Ranger, and twice a Red Ranger) became the new Black Dino Ranger; he said that he had to go shopping because he did not own enough black-colored clothing.

but have you heard of Classic toys?

well you might want to bring back your childhood days as i featured

TOP FIVE MOST POPULAR CLASSIC TOYS AROUND THE WORLD

i will be having ties here.....

TOP 5 MOST POPULAR CLASSIC TOYS

"THE AMERICAN SLINKY AND HUNGARY'S MYSTIFYING RUBIK'S CUBE"

Photobucket

A Slinky is a coil-shaped toy invented by mechanical engineer Richard James in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Slinkies come in various sizes. The shape is a simple helix, or coil design, of a ribbon of material, originally metal. The Slinky can "walk" down stairs as the coils stretch and reform as gravity moves them down each step.
in 1943, Richard James, his assistant Coleman Barber, a US marine engineer stationed at the Cramp shipyards in Philadelphia, and half brother Dylan Gedig, a Canadian engineer, observed a torsion spring fall off a table and roll around on the deck (a torsion spring has no compression or tension). He told his wife: "I think there could be a toy in this." With a US$500 loan, the three men ran tests, experimented with materials, and produced four hundred units of the toy. Betty James did some dictionary searching and came up with the name "Slinky".

rubic cube

Rubik's Cube is a mechanical puzzle invented in 1974 by Hungarian sculptor and professor of architecture Ernő Rubik. Originally called the "Magic Cube" by its inventor, this puzzle was renamed "Rubik's Cube" by Ideal Toys in 1980 and also won the 1980 German Game of the Year. (Spiel des Jahres) special award for Best Puzzle. It is said to be the world's best-selling toy, with over 300,000,000 Rubik's Cubes and imitations sold worldwide.

TOP 4 MOST POPULAR CLASSIC TOYS

"THE AUSTRALIAN BOOMERANG AND SCOTLANDS KALEIDOSCOPE"

Boomerang
A boomerang is a simple wooden implement used for various purposes. It is primarily associated with Australian Aborigines,
The oldest boomerang found so far was discovered in a cave in the Carpathian Mountains in Poland and is believed to be about 20,000 years old. Boomerangs come in many shapes and sizes depending on their geographic/tribal origins and intended function. The most recognizable type is the returning boomerang, a kind of throwing stick that, when thrown correctly, travels in a curved path and returns to its point of origin. Other types of boomerang are of the non-returning sort, and indeed, some are not thrown at all but are used in hand-to-hand combat by Aboriginal people. Boomerangs can be variously used as hunting weapons, percussive musical instruments, battle clubs, fire-starters, decoys for hunting waterfowl, and as recreational play toys. The smallest boomerang may be less than 10 cm from tip-to-tip, and the largest over 2 meters in length. Tribal boomerangs may be inscribed and/or painted with designs meaningful to its maker. Most boomerangs seen today are of the tourist or competition sort, and are almost invariably of the returning type.

The kaleidoscope is a tube of mirrors containing, loose coloured beads or pebbles, or other small coloured objects. The viewer looks in one end and light enters the other end, reflecting off the mirrors. Typically there are two rectangular lengthways mirrors. Setting of the mirrors at 45° creates eight duplicate images of the objects, six at 60°, and four at 90°. As the tube is rotated, the tumbling of the coloured objects presents the viewer with varying colours and patterns. Any arbitrary pattern of objects shows up as a beautiful symmetric pattern because of the reflections in the mirrors. A two-mirror model yields a pattern or patterns isolated against a solid black background, while a three-mirror (closed triangle) model yields a pattern that fills the entire field
Known to the ancient Greeks, it was reinvented by the Scot Sir David Brewster in 1816 while conducting experiments on light polarization, and it was patented in 1817. The initial design was made from a tube in which Brewster placed pairs of mirrors at one end, and pairs of translucent disks at the other end. Between the two, he placed the beads. Initially intended as a science tool, it was quickly copied as a toy.

TOP 3 MOST POPULAR CLASSIC TOY

"CLASSIC JEWISH DREIDEL"

dreidel
A dreidel is a four-sided top, played with during the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah. The dreidel is used for a gambling game similar to Teetotum. Each side of the dreidel bears a letter of the Hebrew alphabet: נ (Nun), ג (Gimel), ה (Hei), ש (Shin), which together form the acronym for "נס גדול היה שם" (Nes Gadol Haya Sham – "a great miracle happened there"). These letters also form a mnemonic for the rules of a gambling game played with a dreidel: Nun stands for the Yiddish word nit ("nothing"), Hei stands for halb ("half"), Gimel for gants ("all"), and Shin for shteln ("put"). In the state of Israel, the fourth side of most dreidels is inscribed with the letter פ (Pei), rendering the acronym, נס גדול היה פה, Nes Gadol Haya Po—"A great miracle happened here" referring to the fact that the miracle occurred in the land of Israel. Some stores in Haredi neighbourhoods may sell the traditional Shin dreidels.
Some Jewish commentators ascribe symbolic significance to the markings on the dreidel. One commentary, for example, connects the four letters with the four exiles to which the nation of Israel was historically subject—Babylonia, Persia, Greece, and Rome

TOP 2 MOST POPULAR CLASSIC TOY

"GERMAN HOBBY HORSE"

Hobby Horse
A hobby horse (or hobby-horse) is a child's toy horse, particularly popular during the days before cars. Just as children today imitate adults driving cars, so, in former times, children played at riding a wooden hobby-horse made of a straight stick with a small horse's head (of wood or stuffed fabric), and perhaps reins, attached to one end. The bottom end of the stick sometimes had a small wheel or wheels attached. This toy was also sometimes known as a cock horse (as in the nursery rhyme Ride a cock horse to Banbury Cross).
A hobby horse is not always a riding-stick like the child's toy; larger hobby-horses feature in some traditional seasonal customs (such as Mummers Plays and the Morris dance in the British Isles), and they are constructed in several different ways

THE MOST POPULAR CLASSIC TOY

"THE MATRYOSHKAS DOLLS FROM RUSSIA"

A matryoshka doll (Russian: матрёшка, Russian pronunciation: [mɐˈtrʲoʂkə]) or a Russian nested doll (also called a stacking doll or Babooshka doll) is a set of dolls of decreasing sizes placed one inside another. "Matryoshka" is a derivative of the Russian female first name "Matryona", which is traditionally associated with a fat, robust, rustic Russian woman.
A set of matryoshkas consists of a wooden figure which can be pulled apart to reveal another figure of the same sort inside. It has, in turn, another figure inside, and so on. The number of nested figures is usually five or more. The shape is mostly cylindrical, rounded at the top for the head and tapered towards the bottom, but little else; the dolls have no hands (except those that are painted). Traditionally the outer layer is a woman, dressed in a sarafan, holding a rooster. Inside, it contains other figures that may be of both genders, usually ending in a baby that does not open. The artistry is in the painting of each doll, which can be extremely elaborate.
Matryoshkas are often designed to follow a particular theme, for instance peasant girls in traditional dress, but the theme can be anything, from fairy tale characters to Soviet leaders.

TOP FIVE PORTION

Photobucket

here we are once again with our top 5 portion
as for our month theme "classic"
let me start with this list

TOP FIVE MOST EXPENSIVE CLASSIC CARS

TOP 5 MOST EXPENSIVE CLASSIC CAR

"1932 Alfa Romeo Tipo B"

$5.6 million

Photobucket
Unofficially known as the P3 or Monoposto, the Alfa Romeo Tipo B was conceived for the 1932 GP Formula 1 season and it became the first single-seater vehicle on the tour. The supercharged 2.6-liter engine had eight cylinders. One of the engine's chief assets was the low-speed torque.

The 1932 season was basically dominated by the Alfa Romeo, winning five major races. Only six of those cars were ever built and in 1933 they were entrusted to Ferrari, which then handled the racing part. A rare 1932 Alfa Romeo Tipo B was recently purchased for the affordable price of $5.6 million.

Get revved in a Ferrari worth 6 mil and the most expensive ride ever sold.

TOP 4 MOST EXPENSIVE CLASSIC CAR

"1962 Ferrari 330 TRI/LM"

$6.5 million

Photobucket
In the late 1950s, Ferrari dominated international racing events with its Testarossa series of front-engined sports cars. In 1962, new rules were applied for LeMans, which forced manufacturers to use four-cylinder engines. The 330 TRI/LM became the most powerful Testarossa and also the last.

Model 0808 won the 1962 LeMans event before being sold by Ferrari to another team. After one race in which it was damaged, it was sold to Hisashi Okada, who drove the car in New York City for a decade. Following complete restoration and a stint in a French collection, it resurfaced in an August 2002 auction and was sold for $6.5 million.

TOP 3 MOST EXPENSIVE CLASSIC CAR

"1931 Type 41 Bugatti Royale"

$8.7 million

Photobucket
Whereas other manufacturers were interested in performance, Bugatti was all about luxury. Using the finest woods, metals and leathers, it was made to impress and provided comfort for the very rich. A massive car with its 14-foot long chassis, this model weighs 3.5 tons.

Back in a time when cars could be purchased for a few hundred dollars, the Bugatti Royale cost $42,000 and only six were ever built. In 1987, four thousand people gathered at Christie's in London and witnessed this 1931 Type 41 Bugatti Royale being auctioned off. It went for $8.7 million.

TOP 2 MOST EXPENSIVE CLASSIC CAR

"1962 Ferrari 250 GTO "

$16.6 million

Photobucket
The beauty of the 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO is that it's a combination of road and racecar. The shape favors aerodynamics while boasting a sexiness that is welcome on the streets. But it's definitely a racecar first and foremost, and requires constant attention, funds and repairs. The engine, which can produce up to 300 horsepower, established Ferrari as the racing champion of the world.

The interior of the 250 GTO is plain; there isn't even carpeting. But with only 40 models made, it's one of the most rare Ferraris in the world. A British garage held on to the one it had acquired cheaply in the '70s and sold it to a Japanese businessman in 1990 for $16.6 million.

THE MOST EXPENSIVE CALSSIC CAR

"1954 Mercedes W 196"

$24 million

Photobucket
The holy grail of racing cars, it was introduced at the 1954 French Grand Prix at Reims, and went on to dominate Formula 1 racing for both the 1954 and 1955 seasons. What made the automobile so special was its revolutionary valve system, which utilized positive control without having to resort to springs.

This car was raced by legendary drivers Juan Manuel Fangio and Stirling Moss before ending up in a museum in the 1980s. The car was sold for a couple of millions to finance renovations at the museum, and sold again in 1990 to a French industrialist for $24 million. A German businessman is currently the owner; he reportedly paid less then half the amount in the late '90s.

*********
In the end, you can ask yourself if these machines are worth that much. Weighing in the parts, history and lore, the value still often resides in the eye of the beholder; cars are a sentimental affair and they're only worth as much as people are prepared to pay. And while your ride quickly depreciates after purchase, these classics have become works of art.

FAB MUSIC PORTION

Photobucket

its fab music time and its going to be the last of their batch

weve done with the 70's with Barry manilow,
with the 80's with David pomeranz,
with the 90's with spice girls
and now for the present time hit maker.........

tada tada tada.... its Avril Lavigne

avril lavigne

Avril Lavigne Whibley better known by her birth name of Avril Lavigne September 27, 1984) is a Canadian Grammy award-nominated pop punk singer, musician and actress. In 2006, Canadian Business Magazine ranked her the seventh most powerful Canadian in Hollywood.

in Lavigne's official MySpace page, she affirms that her music genre is Pop/Punk/Rock; but All Music Guide and other reviewers consider her "Punk, Punk-pop, Pop/Rock, Alternative Rock, Alternative Pop-Rock, Modern Rock and Post-Grunge". The reason for the confusion appears to be for her punk-like appearance, however, she has frequently stated that she's "not punk", and that she never claimed to be. Lavigne said this despite her many claims to be a "skater punk" in her earlier years. Lavigne cites many early punk bands and figures as influences (most notably Sid Vicious), but her music has little in common with 1970s punk.

In the January 2003 issue of Seventeen magazine, she admitted to "snagging a bite of Matt's cheeseburgers every now and again." Also in a recent interview, she said she prefers not to eat meat, but will not say she's a vegetarian "in case anyone caught her eating meat".

Lavigne has a star tattooed on the inside of her left wrist that matches the style of the one used for her first album artwork. It was created at the same time as friend and musical associate Ben Moody's identical tattoo. In late 2004, she had a small pink heart-shaped tattoo featuring the letter 'D' applied to her right wrist, which represents her husband Deryck Whibley.

Lavigne was romantically linked to her former guitarist Jesse Colburn, but despite rumors[citation needed], she did not have a relationship with another former guitarist, Evan Taubenfeld. However, Taubenfeld still considers Lavigne his "dearest friend in the whole world" as said on a recent Q&A on his band's official website.

In February 2004, she began dating fellow Canadian singer Deryck Whibley, the lead singer/guitarist of pop punk band Sum 41. On June 27, 2005, Lavigne and Whibley became engaged. Whibley proposed to Lavigne by surprising her with a trip to Venice, a gondola ride, and then a romantic picnic.

The couple married in a Catholic ceremony attended by about 110 guests on July 15, 2006 at a private estate in Montecito, California. When asked if they were ready for kids the couple said "not right now but somewhere down the road."

In December 2007, Lavigne was ranked at #7 in the Forbes "Top 20 Earners Under 25", with an annual earnings of $12 million.

Avril will launch her clothing line in July. The line is called "Abbey Dawn", which is her childhood nickname given by her father.

and now for her top five song

TOP 5 GREATEST HIT FROM AVRIL LAVIGNE

"FALL INTO PIECES"

Get this widget | Track details | eSnips Social DNA

Fall To Pieces" is the melodic sequel to "Complicated." Lyrically, it's a pledge of commitment demonstrated by emotional trust. The emotional concepts of "Fall To Pieces" show Avril Lavigne moving toward more adult concerns in her songwriting.

TOP 4 GREATEST HIT FROM AVRIL LAVIGNE

"DONT TELL ME"

Get this widget | Track details | eSnips Social DNA

In "Don't Tell Me," Avril Lavigne handles a delicate topic quite well. She takes on the persona of a young woman determined to maintain her sexual independence and integrity. The song is filled with plenty of scorn for an anonymous would-be lover and other girls who "give it all away," but the most significant point of the song is perhaps best summed up in the line "This guilt trip that you put me on won't mess me up, I've done no wrong."

TOP 3 GREATEST HIT FROM AVRIL LAVIGNE

"MY HAPPY ENDING"

The earnest, nearly shouted chorus effectively drives home the point of a happy ending gone bad. "My Happy Ending" appears to be overtly influenced by the style of Alanis Morissette. The cathartic refrain denouncing a former significant other is echoed in a number of Morissette's songs. Nevertheless, it is another song fueled by emotions that a significant number of Avril Lavigne's core fans will recognize.

TOP 2 GREATEST HIT ROM AVRIL LAVIGNE

"COMPLICATED"

The first smash hit from Avril Lavigne remains one of her best. The straightforward lyrics detail concern about a boyfriend's efforts to act a manufactured personality in public. Its strong sense of melody landed "Complicated" at #1 for 11 weeks on the adult top 40 chart

THE GREATEST HIT FROM AVRIL LAVIGNE

"SK8ERBOI"

"Sk8erboi" is the most exhilarating track on Avril Lavigne's groundbreaking first album Let Go. It has been criticized for simplistic lyrics, but the words are nearly perfect in capturing relationships and the concept of sweet revenge from a teen perspective.
